i dont know, but the KA makes very little power above 6500 or so. anything over 7K is just noise, there isnt a point. no power, and the KA isnt a real singer or anything in the 'high' revs.-Enzo

It is a nissan ka24 but it revs really east it doesnt feel like your over reving the engine if you change gears in the high 7000. I havn't tryed to rev it any higher than 7800 but i havn't reached the rev limeter it there is one.

In stock form, the ka24 rotating assembly is on the brink of damage at anything 7000 or above. Several measures can be taken to allow it to rev higher. Balancing, lightening, better pistons, appropriate cams, etc.... There are a few drag ka24's that push 9000rpm with worked stock crank/rods, and stronger pistons.

I know a guy that has a KA and says its a CA(totaly different looking and internally). He has a ECU with the rev limiter taken off and revs it to 8500. He was being so ignorant " These motors arent made to last long. The valves get messed up after 30,000 miles."

No wonder his motors only last that long he revvs it to 8500.

You sure your tach isn't out of adjustment. I think the KA would bust a nut at that speed. How high does it idle? 4K? :D

it idles at 800rpm so that is normal, and you can hear it is reving about 7500.

Holy **** you should be arrested by NICO MODS. Yo man the red line is there for a reason. Unless you are trying to junk that engine I'd suggest shifting at 6500.

Here's a simple, friendly suggestion:

Don't do that.

Unless you have a sick fetish involving demolishing the engine in the car you just bought, do not rev the engine that high.

You should listen to the people on these boards, my friend. The KA does not produce enough power over 6500 rpm to justify revving that high. If you are still getting a good pull on the engine after 6500, one of two things has happened:

1. The engine is not a KA. I repeat, NOT a KA. 2. Whoever you bought the car off of has heavily modified the engine internals and upgraded the ECU. Judging from the slick decal and other meaningless ricework that owner did, I think option 1 is a lot more likely.

Or you're just doing exactly what Nissan put the redline there for you NOT to do...
