Ok, this is my first time on the forum. And i must say that you guys have enough knowledge to make anyone jealous. So here is the deal: I have just bought my self a CA18det, with some nice upgrades: T28 turbo upgrade, equal length racing manifold, turbonettics external waist gate, 470cc injectors, Apexi S-afc, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, stage 3 act racing clutch kit, huge front mount intercooler, with a 3inch down pipe. Here where I live we can take all emission stuff away. But here is my thing: I would like you guys to help me find out till where I could push this engine, and still being safe, considering all the mods I have. I would like to talk about it also in numbers, like how much HP could I expect if I’m boosting 13, 15, 18 or 20 psi?I still have to mention that I got a set of forged pistons, that still need to be installed. What can I expect when I install the pistons???? What psi and how much HP?

Right now I’m running only 6 psi, I still need to buy a boost controller. So when I do this I would like to know how much boost to set in to.

I have seen so much of the SR vs CA and I made my mind. And what other mods can I do to have a better performance? I thought about Changing the cams?

Thx.

The only weak part in your setup is the 440cc injectors. They will limit you to about 250-260whp. If you got 550cc injectors, the turbo will support 280+whp. Forged pistons won't make your car any different (save for some piston slap on cold starts) if you keep the same compression ratio. They will just withstand the cyl pressures and detonation better.

i don't know. I got it with everything that came with the engine, so i don't know where the guy got it from. i bought this ca18det with a lot of upgrades. i'm not going to use the pistons, i won't be neding them for now.

the injectors are 470, not 440. at what psi can i run it? would i be able to go for 18 or 15?

440, 470 it really doesn't matter. still too small to run higher than 14psi. get some bigger injectors (550 range) or start shopping for a new motor, you will blow something up by running 18psi on those injectors.

your stock maf will stop you right around 215whp though.

I thought I saw a maf in his list. Apparently not.

For the MAF, you can set it up using the SAFC. Or, if you are doing a rom tune, it can be set there as well.

for the z32 maf, wire it up and set to 2 in, 7 out on the safc. thats all youve got to do.

as for tuning, take it to a dyno and get those air/fuel ratios right. 14 or 15psi should be about the max for those 470s. i would expect maybe 250hp.
