I just won this auction for this r200 lsd. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...36060

100$ + 20 to have him ship it to me. I was just wondering how hard is it to swap the internals of the Diff after you have it out of the car. Right now I've got a 92 se w/open dif. I've done quite a bit of work on my car. (I like to learn not pay mechanics) So let me know. Thanks

ps also will I need any other parts to complete this?

You will have to set the backlash, which is a real pain in the rear. So you will probably also need the shims to do it.

seems pointless, wouldnt save any cash, a ton more work...the only way i could see is if it was off of a n/a z32 and the flanges dont fit

The only way you wouldn't save is if you had to pay someone to set the backlash. You already bought the thing for $120. Fluids will be about 20 if you go synthetic. Tube of RTV$3. The only thing I am not sure on is the shims.

Basically, the gears can't be too close or too far away from each other. Either one can cause serious damage. That is where the shims come in. Not real hard to do, just time consuming.

Cool...I think I know some one that can help me out once I get the rear end out.
