the window "frame" should be the same.....just a question but why do you want to switch to power...its a nice luxury but it makes the door heavier......

I'm about 6'1 and the crank hits my knee, and I hate having to reach across to lock/unlock the doors, or roll down the passenger side windows etc etc...

I'm lazy -- but oddly willing to work so i can be lazy... paradox?

thanks man !

What kind of car? and, maybe this should be under a car specific general or technical forum?

90 hatch, had no power, I transferred all the guts out of a power door. There is no wiring in place to hook up to however.

I'd imagine you'd have to run some wiring to an extent. May want to invest in a FSM or something to see what goes where exactly. The other option is to find someone who has power options and use them as a blueprint. I'd just get the FSM, though. Sorry I can't help more, but I haven't done it myself..

Grab and FSM and do it. I cant imagine it to be complicated at all, especially if you have a donor car right there.

Think of this as an opportunity to do a better-than-stock install and setup.

While your at it, if you plan on installing an alarm and want LEDs on your doors, its a good time to do it.

the panels are the same they are the same for the auto and the hand crank windows. you will have to find power to send to the motors. there is to my knoledge one empty slot on the fuse box under the dash that you can piggy back power off. but you have to do that to both doors. and thats where it gets trickey. but jsut do some tinkering. make sure you use thick gauge wires for it though. just cause it looks the same size on the outsdie it doenst mean that its the same on the inside.

why would you want to convert, nissan power regulators suck serious arse. they are a cable link type set up that always breaks. plus, if one of those little plastic pulleys break you have to replace the whole regulator.

I recently installed a new passenger door on my 95 and had to transfer my power locks to the new door and it wasnt very difficult, took me only about 35 minutes, plus i had to exchange the wiring harnesses, really wasnt too bad, all i did was remove the entire latch, take the unit inside to rig up and the replace.as for the windows, i sympatize

all it takes is a little common sence to do and some time. when you own a nissan you know that you will have to put some time into it.

Just make sure that you wire everything correctly to the fuse box, and you should be ok.

if you have the fuse splitters then you wont need to put them on the fuse box. but that takes more sence than the average person has to do it.
