I have a friend who is getting ripped off by her local mechanic. She has an 08 Sentra and she needs the catalytic converter replaced. I have offered to do it for her and can get the the converter itself, both gaskets, down stream O2 and the spring bolt kits for around 300 bux shipped to me.
The problem is she lives 4 hours away from me and is planning on driving down to have the work done over a weekend. I dont have access to the car to look at it and see what I am getting myself into. Does anyone have a pic of how the converter mounts? is it easy to access all the bolts, or do I need to be double jointed?
where is the upstream O2 mounted? is it in the manifold or in the converter?
it looks like labor time is an hour so that makes it seem like its an easy swap. Besides the items listed above, is there anything else I may need for the job? Being as its on the weekend getting additional parts for it may not be easy so I want to make sure I have everything before I start working?

AGAIN, if anyone has a good pic of how the converter is mounted, especially at the manifold end that would be a GREAT help.

thanks in advance,
Mark

Howdy and welcome to NICO!
You're a good friend to have! While I can't provide you with any photos, I can provide you with the next best thing- an FSM for the car.
Take a peek at the link in my signature and find the FSM for the 08 Sentra.
Along with that, expect the worst- seized bolts and nuts on the connection points and hangers, rust, and be ready to use a large breaker bar with a lot of elbow grease.

Good luck!
