Parked the car in my grandmothers driverway and turned off the engine, Put up the E brake and even left it in gear... then I hear the crawling sound and notice the car is inching down the drivewway creaking and creaking down the driveway...Any breaks should be good enough to hold a car on a driveway... what the hell happened?I pulled out the driveway cause I didnt wanna hear my car goin through the garage door...

here's the easy fix to you problems. go online and purchase some "nismo" decals which your brakes are not. put them on your stock calipers and your problem if fixxed.

Don't worry, you aren't the only one... the parking break doesn't do much. Nissan should have done something about it already, but I guess that we'll all need to carry a brick with us to keep the car from rolling away.

you have CVT though.....thats not a good thing at all if your CVT rolls back or forth in "P"....only 6mt's should worry about this....sounds like a major screw up in your transmission go get it checked ASAP

Set your parking brake harder.

I did get it checked... "its fine." All trannies will roll a little bit, but with the parking brake on, it really shouldn't roll at all on an almost level surface (like my driveway). Only time will tell though, I'm still a little iffy on this CVT deal...

i put a bing cinder block by the right front tire and those wheel jams that those verizon work trucks use to put in front their whiles when they are working in front the left... but I still was like u know what, i still dont feel comfortable leaving it here cause I was gonna leave it there for the whole week and start taking public transportation to work due to gas prices....

ShadowAltima did say he left it "in gear" though - wouldn't that imply a 6MT rather than CVT? A CVT should never do that - same as any other automatic transmission in park as far as I know.

I don't live near a lot of hills to test it though so maybe a steep enough incline can pop it out of park?

Definetly get it checked.

When you have a car in gear, it should NOT roll backwards. If it still does.. somethings really wrong.

If its in gear and everything is owrking properly.. You probably dont even need an E-brake on.

I know i engage the gears and use ebrake for my car but thats just for safety.

I park on the a very steep hill for work, and the parking brake and e brake definitely comes into use. My driveway is slightly slanted and only the Parking brake is used here.

I also have a cvt.
