Cars.com says the AWD is 0-60 in 9.7 seconds. That's slow. It honestly doesn't feel that slow.

But some other sites say it's faster.

Another thing. It does seem the car starts off slow, but picks up at around 4-5 mph. Also, I've had no problem passing/merging on the freeway.

There used to be awd vs fwd tread on this forum:
Ticmxman wrote:I feel like my Rogue has plenty of power it is a 2wd. One thing I did notice is a pretty major difference in the 0- 60 mph times from Edmunds 4wd test vs Motortrends 2wd Rogue test shown below. The stats below may explain what I feel when I drive my 2wd Rogue of course I live in GA and snow/ice is not a concern. When it is I do not trust other drivers and will drive my work truck.TEST DATA Motortrend on the left.Acceleration to mph
0-30 3.0 sec
0-40 4.4
0-50 6.1
0-60 8.2 (Edmunds 4wd= 9.2)
0-70 10.8
0-80 14.2
0-90 18.3
Quarter mile 16.4 sec 85.5 mph (Edmunds 4wd 16.9, 83.4 mph) Braking, 60-0 mph 124 ft Lateral acceleration 0.80 g avg MT figure eight 28.8 sec 0.56 g avg Top-gear revs 60 mph 2000 rpm

thats because at 6mph the awd turns off, and it goes fwd.

That's precisely why you can't rely on a butt dyno. We have another crossover that feels slower in day-to-day driving (doesn't feel slow when you floor it though) than our Rogue but does 0-60 in 6.6 seconds.

So the slower 0-60 is due to the fact that the AWD kicks in off the mark so I can't spin my front wheels, but once it turns off, the speed picks up.

In other words, it might suck at drag racing and laying rubber in the high school parking lot, but be very useful passing and merging onto the freeway.

I can live with that.

the GTR hardly lays down any rubber. its not about "laying rubber". a good reaction time, along with the least amount of wheel spin is key to winning the race.

now regarding the rogue. have you ever wondered why engine horsepower is always higher than the horsepower that is registered on a dyno?
power is lost in translation from engine to wheels. the engine has to turn the transmission, transaxle, propeller shaft, and differential before power is actually at the rear wheels. dont forget the longer something is, the less torque it can carry.(propeller shaft)

by reducing the strain on the engine = more power to the wheels = faster pick-up.

The Rogue is not fast at all if you want to drive it like a coupe. The best part about the Rogue's 2.5L engine and CVT combination is its low end torque. In day to day commute, you get decent response even with the engine just around 2500rpm. It gets up to speed with little effort. Overall, it gives a very smooth and "relax" feel that no other cars in this class could give you. On the other hand, people who like to race through traffic would not like it. This is why most "car review guys" don't like the Rogue and CVT as a whole.
