As you should know, I got my car for $300, its a 1992 s13 hatch, white, no rear or side window, 92,000 miles, and a dented hood. In the past month, I got a hood, strut tower bar, and a ghetto 2.5 full exhaust system, for $100. I also made a rear hatch out of polycarbonate, and COMPLETELY gutted the car. I have lost A LOT of weight from this car, but still need more power. As you can tell, this is a low income project...So after headers/intake/exhaust, a/c removal, what else can be done to get more power, for close to free? How long can I expect this engine to last? Any new ideas on how to go faster are greatly appreciated. I will post pics soon

Start with a good tune up (plugs, wires, distributor, timing chain inspection/replacement if necessary, etc).

Might as well cover all the necessary things before trying to make more power.

replace clutch fan with electric... Do you want all N/A? Or turbo? either way light weight pulleys, ight weight flywheel and better clutch, light wieght drive shaft, shorter rear end gears, light weight hood... Thats all I got right now.

How do you advance the timing on the KA24DE? That is something i have wanted to know, and by how much to be safe, as well as the reprocussions of doing it. Like, running leaner or richer or gas mileage.

Taking out the fan and fan clutch gave me alot of response as well as removing a bunch of junk you dont need out of the engine. Ignition is also a must. Make sure you dont have any resonators hooked up to your intake.

Search!!!!! I hate doing this to you but I had it done to me dozens of times and on this topic you will definately find the answer to your question. I asked the same question and got a great response but I should have searched cause all the info was here. Search the KA forum with my screen name as the creator and you'll see the question I asked and the responses I got.I hate being told to search, so much so that I was banned from another site partially because of that but when you search you avoid posting repeats and the mods smackin you around have fun
