Highest level is 60, or 70 if he has the expansion. So, not really far, per-se. 48 is just about midway as far as actual game content.

i hit 68 in maybe 8 months, and have since quit the game.

So if your worried about him being addicted.... no it doesn't sound like he's playing that much.

As far as game play... yeah ~45 is halfway through the game, both content wise and leveling time.

14 months to hit 48 is slow. I hit 60 (the old level cap) only a month or 2 after release. And I hit 70 within a few weeks of the expack release. And I considered myself to be slow, especially cause I took a few weeks break around level 50.

Well, I do limit his game play, and he's had a few "weeks" of no play due as well.

I just never want to hear him go off like that one kid in the WoW video on YouTube.

I didn't see that video, but I assume he was a scary WoW-aholic?

If its the one i'm thinking of its a couple of kids on ventrillo doing a raid when one kids parents want him to stop playing and he goes psycho over it and of course he forgets to turn the mic off. And Rex I would say your son is in no danger or that type of behavior 14 months to get to lvl 48 is considered casual by wow standards, if he was super addiced to it you already would have had a screaming fight over it a long time ago.
