Only had my JX35 for 4 months and with all the safety features you'd think I wouldn't be able to run into anything. But I did and I cracked the lense on the passager side headlight. Wish they would just sell me the lense, but not a chance. The entire headlamp from the dealer is $1171 and I am not about to pay this. Found a new (or most likely salvaged) headlight on ebay for $270 and ready to buy it, but thought I might see if anyone else has had this issue and if it is something I might be able to replace on my own?? Thanks.

The JX35/QX60 headlamp lens and housing are held together with 6 T15 fasteners and a special high strength polyurethane adhesive. To replace the lens:
1. you need to remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle via three 10mm bolts that secure the assembly to the body
2. disconnect the wiring harness's from both the vehicle and the lights/ballast on the assembly
3. remove the t15 fasteners as mentioned above
4. carefully use a heat gun on low setting, taking short passes along the seam of the housing/lens. the polyurethane will begin to look shiny and will soften considerably
5. pull the lens off of the housing carefully making sure to not bend the body (its made of a filled polypropylene)
6. remove the remaining polyurethane from the housing (it should pull off like gum)
7. apply a thin strip of 3M polyurethane windshield adhesive (available at most auto parts stores) and press new lens into groove.
8. reinsert the t15 fasteners, this will pull the lens into the housing further and create a great seal.
9. return assembly to vehicle and enjoy!

If you need a lens for this assembly I can be of assistance and get you one for a fraction of the price the assembly will cost you.

Luck would have it....a bird flew into my driver headlight on Infi QX60. A good part of the cover clear shield broke off. Do I need replacement the entire unit?
If so, where would I find the instructions on how to remove the unit? I am assuming I would have to disassemble a good part of the front help.
Like the other person on this post, I will buy an used unit off ebay for about $300-400. The deal cost of this unit is untouchable.
any help is appreciated.
