The JX35/QX60 headlamp lens and housing are held together with 6 T15 fasteners and a special high strength polyurethane adhesive. To replace the lens:
1. you need to remove the headlamp assembly from the vehicle via three 10mm bolts that secure the assembly to the body
2. disconnect the wiring harness's from both the vehicle and the lights/ballast on the assembly
3. remove the t15 fasteners as mentioned above
4. carefully use a heat gun on low setting, taking short passes along the seam of the housing/lens. the polyurethane will begin to look shiny and will soften considerably
5. pull the lens off of the housing carefully making sure to not bend the body (its made of a filled polypropylene)
6. remove the remaining polyurethane from the housing (it should pull off like gum)
7. apply a thin strip of 3M polyurethane windshield adhesive (available at most auto parts stores) and press new lens into groove.
8. reinsert the t15 fasteners, this will pull the lens into the housing further and create a great seal.
9. return assembly to vehicle and enjoy!
If you need a lens for this assembly I can be of assistance and get you one for a fraction of the price the assembly will cost you.
