im gernerally new to 240's, but i know the basics, 2 door, rwd, 2.4l I-4, im looking for my first car, i noticed that the car isnt too fast, but fast enough. My parents own a nissan altima (3.5) and i found out that they arent too easy to modify, but i know someone who has a 300zx to become an 11 second car, so where does the 240 stand in terms of modification??

What do youmean by this? Do youmean an intake and exhaust wont do anything on your parents car? well duh, the VQ is practically maxxed out from the factory.

ORRR do you mean that it is difficult to do work on it yourself?

depends on what motor you are gonna use. if you are going to go turbo ka? Or Na Ka? Or nitrous ka? Quickest i have ever seen out of a na ka, was mid 14's. With nitrous, turbo, or engine swap, the car will be as fast as ur budget can support.

you can easily get it into the 11's with a lil money and time:D and major tuning skills (not like "rice tuning"...but engine tuning, making everything work with eacother and not against)

EDIT: with a decent stack of money....not just "a little"

lol I wasnt going to even touch this when I saw it with no posts on it. Asking a vague post about what should I do, cheap hp, or whats the easiest way to get hp is a great way to get a "use search button" or general flaming.

ok plain and simple, can you tie your shoes?? it's that easy. If you want to be like most ppl, swap for an SR20DET. If you wnat to be different, go wit the CA18DET or the skyline motors such as the RB20DET or RB25DET. Then again your going to need a little bit of money.

YOu can also SEARCH.

what's up, you can mod an na 240 fairly easily. they use the same basic bolt ons as your average civic (intake, headers, exhaust, crank pulley) but they are a little faster. on this if you have an lsd, I've seen mid 14's. if you run a 50-75shot and can drive, mid 13's. suspension wise, since our 240 is the same basically as the silvia in Japan, there is an asston of mods, just depends on your budget and how you are going to use your car. as for the motor, there is a ****-ton of stuff for the sr20 also, as this is the standard motor in the silvia. other motors may require a bit of modification

put 22-25k into an S14 including the car and u can have a fast and the furious style street car that "runs 9's"

not really ...more like 10's

KA24DE 155hp but the car is heavy. main...your weird. who would want to invest 22-25k in a 240 anyway? the most im doing is 13K (engine, GP kit, birde seat, rims, breaks, and LSD S13) if i spend anymore then im buying a new car

well yeah...i'd rather put 25k into my 240sx then spend 25k on a new car...i'd rather have a silvia with leather that runs 11 flat then a new car...
