how does your family/friends/lover feel about your drifting?

Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

i don't drift, but i have a feeling my family would not support it all, my friends would love it, and my g/f would be pissed about the money and worried about my safety.

but those are all assumptions and guesses. so i was wondering about your guy's life.

my family and friends are actually pretty supportive about it. i guess if they can see that it is your passion and it keeps you out of trouble, you have the privellege and right to do it. besides, its your money, too. hahaha.

i pretty sure my mom doesn't know that i do it. she'd probably think it's a waste of money anyway. but i love my mommy ^_^my bro thinks it's random that i'm doing it, but thinks it's alright; doesn't really "support me", but doesn't bash me about it. i say that i drift to my sister, she gets confused, and i leave it at that. my boyfriend thinks it awesome can't really come to most of the events because of work, but he supports me 100%; plus we support each other with our motorsport activitiesmy friends drift with me some of the girls in my class think that if they do it, their hotness factor will go up ... ...

girl drifters lol

My parents support me a lot. It wasn't always like that tho. I took my dad to an event and made him ride a long with me and it changed everything! I just wished they made it out to more events. But they do like watching videos. Friends all love drifting so thats a given. X Girl friend was cool about it. HATED that i spent so much money on drifting, thats a given also. Very hard for her to understand its not just a "hobby". Maybe thats part of why she is X now? haha. Try to get your parents involved somehow. Hella fun to talk about it with family.

My folks dont really support me 100% but they arnt 100% against it eitherthey kno what i like.for the most part i dont think they know that i occasionally practice in empty parking lots either

The last time i asked to enter a drift-day she(moy mother)said no... cuz im on her insurance.another reason she doesnt support it is because she doesnt really know exactly what it is..but she does support my love for cars tho

family, my immediate family is just my mom and she is cool with it. thinks im insane, but supports me emotionally haha. She has seen me drift once. late last year i did a demo at our circle track, she was in the stands. i had no idea she was there. I drove great, put on a good show. killed 2 brand new tires in 13 minutes. needless to say there was some smoke in the air . its a 3rd gear banked circle track so the speeds were decent. i park the car, shake a couple hands and my phone rings. answer it and she says "you are ****ing crazy you almost gave me a heart attack" hahahaha i replied with "that means i did a good job". she never cusses, i was laughing my *** off. she has been super cool since i got my pro license and is trying to give more support and advice with money management and the like.

friends, most of them are drifters so they love it haha, other half think its cool im a "racecar" driver. taken a few of them on rides, once they stop hyperventilating they seem like they enjoyed it.

girlfriends. HAH, yea..when i find one that puts up with it, ill let you know lol. Girls dont like it much when you blow them off on a friday night to fix your car for a saturday night event 200 miles away.

My dad loves that I'm in some kind of motorsports. My freinds hang out with me at events and my girl freind loves to ride along with me, it's a gas.

My wife hates it, she is always worried about me loosing control. She aslo thinks that it is turning into a bandwagon sport. I just tell her I loved it before everyone else, she has no comment.

My parents don't really like that I drift because they think it is dangerous.

My friends are mostly all car guys: the ones that are drag guys think it's retarded for the most part (my retort is, "What's more retarded than basing your life around 15 seconds of fun every once in a while?") and all the other ones are drifters so of course they love it. I don't have many friends that are girls cuz they don't get it...they just think cars are a guy thing.

And my boyfriend drifts (I drift his car), so he has no problem with it as long as I pay for part of the tires each time we need new ones.

my mom flipped and said "jewish people dont drift"

later, then asked what the racing helmet was for in the garage. i said it was for the track for safety/insurance reasons. she flipped again and said, what if you crash? are you insured for drifting? i dont think so. you better sell your car and get a cheap car for drifting"..... hmmmmmmm but yeah, nobody in my family supports it.. although that last thing my mom said had me puzzled

family/girlfriend is much closer to you than your friends. think about the way they care. family compared to friends. i think family is right on this one. although drifting is heaven.

although i have never drifted my car, i basically only visit my mother on mothers day and christmas due to my job, living in a different state, and my hectic schedule with classes. but for the past three years when i visit her mothers day weekend i take her to formula d at road atlanta for her gift and she loves it. i have to say there is not much funnier than hearing your mom yell at taniguchi is his altezza saying how pretty the car is because she is drunk. she enjoys me taking her to formula d and it is a mothers day tradition we will continue.

Wife thinks it's fun as hell. male friends are all cool with it because they do it too. Female friends don't like it, and they scream REALLY LOUD when I do it with them in the car. Mom hates it, freaks out. Dad thinks it's a waste of tire.
