I have a 2005 Altima SE-R 5 AT with traction control. This is my first winter driving the car and its not fun. With new all season tires with 85 % of treadwear left i cant get anywhere. I am posting this for other peoples input of how their altimas, prefferably SE-R's and how they drive, different tire setups that help. Thanks.

Your answer is in your question. All season tires are not good in snow, despite what all the tire manufacturers say. All season should be marketed as 3 season. My Altima is only a 2.5 SL, but I run with 4 winter tires on steel rims from November to April. I live in Ottawa, Canada. Lots of snow and cold weather.I have no problems getting around. My Altima will walk through any snowbank with ease. It`s worth the initial outlay for the snow tires. In the long run, I think I break even. My summer tires last twice as long, and my good rims don`t get damaged.
