how does the SSQV mate to it's flange?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Just playing with my parts today, and I noticed that the HKS SSQV doesnt really "snap in" to it's flange.. it looks like there needs to be some sort of c-clip or something to hold it in. The flange is all that came in the box.

The bov fits right in the flange, but it just doesnt stay in, ya know what I mean?

Hows it stay in?

you set it inside the flange, and then you put the C-clip around it, so it expands, holding the BOV in. Seems kind of weird, yea, but that's how it works..

"the" c-clip? the flange was the only thing that came in the box... should it have come with a clip?

yes...Here are the best prices for the parts you need that I found, this is copied and pasted from an email I got.

Here are the prices in CDN dollars, taxes extra.

SSQV C-Clip Part No. Application Retail 91711-009100 ALL $10.87

SSQV O-Ring Part No. Application Retail 91731-065100 ALL $10.87

I had O rings so I just decided to buy some 1 7/8" C clips I got at lowes and bend them out a bit to fit the HKS (which requires 2.25" I think). They seal tight, whether they will be enough I don't know. When I get my car running I will see. If they don't seal properly then I'll go ahead and order them from that guy. 10.87 canadian isn't much, I don't think.

yeah thats how it goes... thas why you gotta buy the kit. But those prices are canadian so its less in USD. But you can probably find O rings that would work by matching them up at napa or autozone, and the C clips are next to impossible to find so I just bent some smaller ones out to fit and it seems to work pretty well.Buy yeah, I was less than pleased when I found that out, cause I have two of them.

yes u do need all that. the c-clip is a pain to get in too, at least it was for me. take off the houseing which u did for the recirculation fitting and use some skinny needle nose pliers. i drilled out hte holes on the c-clip to get more of the pliers in there
