the HKS SSQ BOV is designed to prevent leaks. My Type S leaks like a SOB but it's recirculated and it keeps my turbo spooling so I like it. The SSQ no matter how much boost you are using it won't leak a single bit of air mainly because the pressure also helps hold the valve closed.

Does it install the same way as a push type? and I thought you could get a recirc. adapter for the HKS

you can get a recirculation adapter for the SSQV, I have one:

how the thing works, however, I am not completely sure. You can google sequential valves someplace and figure it out... I thought it had something to do with working off of vaccum instead of + pressure... Could be wrong though-- hey it makes a cool sound!!

I read somewhere the pressure keeps the valve closed until there is a vacuum which then opens it up. Or something along those lines. =)

As you can see, pressure keeps it closed. Also of note is that there are two sections. The adjustment screw changes how easy it is to push the small plunger back, which then releases the large plunger. So it's good to have it set about as loose as you can get it.
