How does the Driver's seat really work??

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have been trying to get the drivers seat to work properly for some time..I know it is supposed to retract to exit the car then when you get back in, return to the set position. Mine will retract on exit but when I open the door it starts forward before I am in the car..Anyone else have this problem? does it have something to do with letting the passenger in first? I am confused..Thanks

I turned that option off.

When I had it on it would move back when I turned the car off and wouldnt move forward till I turned the car on if I recall. If you are pushing the on button prior to closing the door this is probably your issue.

Actually the seat starts forward before I even open the drivers door..then when I open the door it moves back then forward before I can get in..I think it should stay back until I get in and start the car, right?

According to p.3-23 of the Owner's Manual:

The driver's seat and steering wheel will returnto the previous positions when one of thefollowing is operated:When the ignition switch is pushed to theACC position after the driver's door isclosed. When the ignition switch is pushed to theON position.

BTW, on my car, I also turned that off (but allow the steering column to move automatically), because I often have items behind the driver's seat which I don't want crushed.

The system works just as the guys above described and can be changed using the Comfort and Convenience sub-menu (scroll down). If you want to program one of your key fobs to your driver position setting you can do that by pressing the set button and once the 1 and 2 illuminate press it once and then press any button on the remote once. If done correctly this will register the remote to your ADP setting, this should move the seat to its desired position upon unlocking.
