So i installed the magnaflow14807 on my m35. I honestly think they look nice, but they're a hair too big. I dont want to get diff mufflers and throw that money down the drain. Give me your honest feed back on what you think? I have a short ram intake installed as well. It's deff louder than the stock mufflers, and of course the video i mad is not the best. Im debating now whether to get the megan midpipe or save a lot of money and take the resonators off. What do you think?

Unfortunately the pics are horrible and blurry. So most are going to reserve comments. Just keeping it real...

I agree the pictures are poor quality. So I might like them more with new photos. From what I can see, I think the exhaust pipes look too large. I personally prefer the more subtle look on performance sedans. I'm not against more aggressive styling, just not on these cars. I think save the "in your face look" for trucks, and 2 seat sports cars. Just my opinion, all that really matters is you like it.

+1...need better pix to get a good look at the positioning, size, and overall look of the exhaust. The first video sounded good -- I could really hear the intake sound... hey, I appreciate your 'modding' efforts...the main thing is "as long as YOU like it" :bigthumb:

regarding getting the Megan Mid pipe or removing the resonators...removing the resonators will increase your exhaust sound, possibly add drone in your cabin -- I'm thinking the magna flows are a 'straight thru' exhaust.???? The megan mid will increase the flow and still give you resonators (larger diameter piping = 2.5") are you running 2.5" from your magna flows to the stock midpipes back??

Better pics are needed - but I suspect they will still look too big.

For video, I would like to hear the exhaust from the rear when you're still on the throttle. Both vids are with you letting up as you pass and I don't get a good feel for the exhaust note.

Since you wanted an opinion and since I'm not afraid of being honest....

I don't think I need to see clearer pix of the mufflers. They look cartoonishly huge for your model M. Plus, it sounds like you don't like them all that much since you are also concerned with how ridiculously big they look (based on your first post).

I'm gonna agree with ^ . Too big for the M. :(

However, props for trying something new - that's what modding is all about.

OK I will put my input on this one, if it looks ricey I dont think so ! Do they look too big?! well everyones eyes are different , you have the magnaflows 14807 thats a 4" tip together they are 8" and a 1/4" gap thats 8.25" , our opening in bumper is 7" so figure it out... I have the magnaflows 14816 3.5" tips and I love them, I get lots of compliments on my exhaust now and Iam very happy I did this . Sounds great not too loud little louder than stock but deffinetly much deeper !! btw. the stock can with tips is a joke, two weeks ago I was driving and I saw an M with stock exhaust in front of me and I was wondering , does this car even have an exhaust ?! Its so tiny and unnoticible and so sunken in that its hardly visible . It confirmed my confidence about my new exhaust, and I love it !!!
I took some pics in the morning when I went shopping, pardon my cars appearence but the in NJ is strange lately and I havent had a time for a good wash. I will post a video once I have a little more time.

OH and dont forget the M is a pretty big car with a big as* so bigger pipes just blend in !!!

I think a single, somewhat larger outlet on each side would look more menacing, yet be more discreet.

Especially in that last pic, the twins on each side look like they were forced to fit. The bumper cutout areas exaggerate this forced look by being smaller than the twin pipes width.

Like I said it all looks different in someone elses eyes, I love it, this is the look I was aiming for ! and nothing was forced to fit , there was plenty of room to play with since its a custom fitting .I could have went higher and more "in".
but then again this is the look I wanted..

Way too big, the thing looks like it's about to take flight! lol. But as long as your happy with it, it doesn't matter...then again, most people who are truely happy with their decisions don't seek input after the fact. JMO.

Honestly, i like the way it looks, but i question it. If most people like it then ill really like it. If most people wont, then i wont. Tell me your honest answer, ya they are too big, but does it look good?

Im wishing i went with the megan mufflers, i want to get the megan midpipe, and then have my magnaflows welded to it. But if i get mostly thumbs down from most ppl, it looks like $400 went down the drain.

^ @ Partysan7,
I don't think Double E's comment was meant to you...from what I'm getting is that he was describing the OP second picture...

as for the Thread, I think the OP shot himself in the foot by initially stating " they're a hair too big", the mindset was on the lines of "buyers remorse"....if you went with it, then go with it...you can always keep the mufflers and re-do the tips...there are tons of tips out there in the market....things can always be fixed....that's what modding is about...fixing things to your liking. :dblthumb:

Good luck and stick with your guns....it's your car...enjoy it brotha...remember, this forum has plenty of folks with experience, trial and error, etc....lean on us if you have questions....

I think OP should just bite the bullet and swap it out. The longer i stare at the new photos, I can't stop wondering what made him buy something so outlandish.... :spitout: :spitout: (Sorry)

Dual tips are cool, but I think they needs to be toned down to smaller diameter tips. It doesn't seem like the car has a rear lip (I can be wrong), but maybe factory rear lips may be used to lessen the ridiculous size of the tips? Factory rear lips may help blend the tips better into the rear bumper?

Definitely dual tips on each side. I would not have any other way.

Those tips are just not one with the car. The more I look at the pics, the more I realize those tips don't belong there.

Maybe painting the mufflers black would minimize the gigantic look !??!

Oh damnn, guess the majority doesn't like it. These are magnaflow 14807. Can i change the tips or would that be too hard, too much, and not even worth the effort.

It's not the tips that are the problem. I work with Magnaflow stuff every day, and switching out the tips is more hassle than it's worth.

They look "slapped on", and they cheapen the look. It's not a 60's musclecar.

But, if you like it, no one's opinion means a thing. :)

Not only are they too big but they also stick out to much from the bumper. The Magnaflow tips are not staggered.

I like this look better:

Not gonna lie, now that they got a lil dirty i think they look really good now. It looks mean and agressive, but looks good. Maybe i wont replace them with the megan mufflers.

But tell me if you guys think i should take the resonators off? Will it sound too raspy?

Im gonna save up for the megan midpipe, but you still think i should go forbthe megan mufflers as well? Give me your thoughts and feedback.

They are too big, but in the end, "do they look good" things that arent perfect are still able to look good :p

Man, it doesn't look good...no matter how to cut it. Sorry, but I just can't give you a 'it's okay - looks okay' type response.

I would def. stick with the dual pipe look but those are way too big. Those belong on the back of a high school kids '95 honda accord. I realize you spent hard earned money on them so if you like them then just keep them but Im guessing you will be changing them seeing as how youve asked everyones opinion so many times.

Got true duals, she sounds really nice and deep, she is too loud, but i love it, and everyone complimented me about it. Maybe ill put in some cheap resonators after if it gets annoying

Sorry, but I still don't like the look, (which is what you were asking us for). If you like it then great! As for me, they just seem too large and really make you stare at them instead of the subtle look.

Large tires tucked under the fenders not sticking out, but large from the rear I like. A large tailpipe not fitting the cutout of the bumper and sticking really low below the vehicle not my ideal look.

As far as removing the crossover pipe I have done some reading and it appears that doing that will lower your back pressure which is making it louder, (sounds like you like that for now) but more importantly, it will lower your mid rpm torque and power which is in my opinion one of the great things about a V-8 engine. Might also have an affect on value pressures and temperatures.

I think that fewer cells in the catalytic converters and less restrictive flow mufflers might make an improvement but the real test is the dyno results before and after. There are some great articles on paper vs oil intake filter and exhaust before and after. Sometimes just because the engine sounds louder does not mean it's faster. But hey, bottom line if you like it then great, enjoy it! Sounds like the look and what others think of it is most important, hope this helps.
