Hopefully you recognize that the forum software has been upgraded. this should give us a faster load time, more flexibility, and a lot of future opportunities. How does everyone like it so far? What else do you want, or how can we help you enjoy it more?

if you are having specific problems, post 'em up. We'll get them fixed one by one.

The nissanversa.org forum link doesn't work yet. Apparently no one has made their way back in yet.

did you see that big tumbleweed go by?

apparently everyone just links to the Versa forums and doesn't peruse the NICO main forums.

Yeah, for the most part the Versa people rarely went into the main NICO forums.

I would say I liked the way the old setup looked but that may just be because I was used to it. One thing I don't like though is that now the Versa General section is seperate from the other sections. I used to be able to click back and see all of them but now I have to bookmark two links or scroll through all those links on the main page. I suppose Firefox and it's awesome bookmark buttons fix that problem. :D Oh and I also noticed there doesn't seem to be a way to edit posts anymore... I saw the delete button but no edit button. And in this very post right here, I tried to post a small partial screenshot pic of my firefox links and it says it's too big. wtf. If this pic is too big, ALL of my pics will be "too big." Maybe that could be fixed?

Should have metioned there are many small issues being worked on currently. Just going to take time to correct them all.

Including:
-color options for the forums, since the light blues are hard to see things in right now
-Edit/Quote buttons work for some people and not others right now
-Alignment of forums on main page and the separate forum sections, etc
-and a ton more

It's not bad. It does look a lot better though.

I'm sure once everything gets finished it will be great. It's fast, so thats great.

Is this forum phpBB?

I don't like that it's not linked up there *points* where the cube and other forums are. Thats how I always got here, now I have to scroll all the way down! I also can't figure out how to post pictures, I tried to last night with my photobucket links, but it said it couldn't determine the size and wouldn't post. How can I post them?

I tried for almost 3 days trying to get back to the forums using "www.forums.nissanversa.org" and I was almost panicking, thinking they were gone for good. I really don't think a lot of people realize that the forum address moved completely. I only found out after a good deal of googling. And after that my username wasn't working so I hit "forgot my password" and had my new one sent to me. Tried to log in using it, and it wouldn't work. After investigating within main NICO general chat, it told me I MUST press the link in my e-mail first, THEN use my new password.

Needless to say, I think a lot of people aren't gonna figure this out. Any way we can send e-mails to all the people who were posting in versa forums?

Cody: I think it is phpBB.

Rxx: The pictures are locked at a max of 625 x 625 pixels right now. We have complained to the powers that be, and it will be addressed soon.

eeshazor: I don't know how to email everyone, but you can help get the word out with Facebook, MySpace, etc. I think we all have a lot of friends through the interweb vine and you can help them get back home. We have already mentioned that the link we all are used to doesn't work. It will be fixed also.

This would have been great on April 1st as a joke.

Ha! I finally got in here after about 10 minutes of clicking, re typing in Nico's url, etc etc.

If I resize them myself and put them on photobucket will I beable to post them? Photobucket always resized for me, but I guess not small enough for here?

I'm kinda annoyed that its not all that fast. Some times it is and others its not. I also seem to have trouble getting into threads here and there. It took me a lot of refreshing and typing in the URL to get into some. =/ maybe when its complete it'll be better?

I have Nico on my facebook, I thought alot on here would have, thats how I found out about it changing.

I'm not sure about the pictures. I think they are trying to make come in as thumbnails and be clickable to a large picture.

Get the word out, we'll get everyone back. It will be better when it's all fixed up. People are working around the clock to get things fixed up.

Having the pictures smaller in general increases the loading time of the website / page you are trying to visit. Say you have a desktop background thats roughly 1600 x 1024, well even when its posted into the forum resized it still has to grab that HUGE image and than resize it, so it would be best to just resize them..

I'm assuming that this software is phpBB and I am not too familiar with it.. I can look into it and maybe do some tests though.

Changes are being implemented to get everything back on track. Links from nissanversa.org will be updated once the main page category is reconfigured, probably tonight.

Patience please. We were not counting on being forced to migrate so soon.

We are working to get the forums.nissanversa.org url working again. That and a couple other pointed links missed the move over.

Sorry guys :(

I'll reserve judgement until I've given myself a chance to get used to it.

One thing I already miss is the inability to hit "reply" in each post. A lot of times we reply to a specific person who posted earlier in the thread . I see a lot of arguments starting from replies when we don't take the time to type out the name of the person we are responding to. The old system did that for us.

It happens in the car threads when we're having discussions within discussions. It will be a huge problem in the political forum. We may wind up with some people who are offended by replies not even intended for them.

Really need to bold the thread titles when in the forum. I find it hard to differentiate between the thread title and the username. It would just be easier on the eyes.

Also, can we have the forum order back like it was before? Owner Introduction before General Chat? The madness :fruit:

There is still tweaking going on, the forums order and the smaller things will be addressed. And overall color/scheme are still to be looked at too.

Gonna take some doing to get used to it. I thought the whole forum was gone. Took me 4 days to get back on. Takes forever for the pages to load and my Avatar was gone. I had to make a new one. If this is what it's gonna be like ......well hmmmm, not gonna be my fave place to visit much longer. Sorry.

I finally found the new forum... I was excited when I saw the "View new posts" link, but then saw it covered more than just the Versa forum. Oh well, no worse than before! And the speed seems to have picked up nicely.

I get a lousy double ear infection and disappear for 3 weeks... only to come back to this... where is the reply button? where is my avatar? what do the pictures mean?

I miss knowing instantly which threads I have read ;o(

This will take some getting used to... on my new password, It wouldn't let me in for a long time... of course, this is because I mistook an "I" for a "1"

:squint:

I'm glad that :squint still works... :squint:

EDIT: Okay, so "squint" didn't work because it requires 2 ":", I couldn't do much more last night as nothing would load... and on the old setup, when someone had replied to a post, you could click the title and be taken back to the post being replied to, which was handy.

Has the slowness been resovled? I posted a lengthy post, only to have it time out and I had to type it again.

Have to replace your avatar, was a casuality of the transition.

Quote should be on each post, then reply and quick reply should beat the bottom.

Anything with new posts will have a marker to the left of the thread.

You can change your password.
