Driving with no PS is easy, but as already said, parking sucks bawls. You get to fight to turn the wheel, work the gas, clutch and look out your backwindow while backing up. This is simple with PS because it requires almost no effort on the steering wheel, but without PS it takes some work to turn the wheel when the car isn't rolling.

feels ok, i guess learning to drive in an old 77 toyota corona w/0 power steering helped me a lot, but you'll get used to it, you just have to use two hands when making turns at low speed, it may be worst for those who like to use their cell phone while driving.

In s14, without PS, it's really not that bad but parking is a bit of a paint.

In S13, you better be doing alot of highway driving. It sucks donkey balls for city driving and parking

cutting belt isn't the same as losing the whole system, you're fighting the pump which makes it very hard... much harder than without a pump.

if there was a manual rack that could be put in my car (s14) i would of gone that route. but driving a car without powersteering but with a power steering rack is not the same.

VERY true. email me [email protected] and i'll teach you how to modify your power steering system CORRECTLY to function as a proper non-power system. once you do, it feels almost like power steering only with 3-4 times the feedback from the road and it's about 2-3 times as hard to turn <3mph, but it's very easy compared to removing the p/s belt or something. even easier than simply looping the p/s pump lines to each other.

I looked into modding a 280Z manual steering rack to work with the S13 crossmember and steering shaft, but opted to work in power steering. You might want to check that out, I believe any of the 70's Z cars are the same.

Not having power steering is better if your a beggining drifter. Most beginners tend to over-steer if they have power steering.

i thought oversteer was the point of drifting; correct me if wrong.

anyway, i would have to say if its a city driven car then powersteering is t3h w1n. and besides, when going to the track you can always jsut take the belt off.

A lot of it depends on what kind of tires/wheels your running to. I had on a pair of steeles that where waaay out of balance so my buddy brought his steeles over and boy what a difference same rim/steelie but he had on a nicer tire... damn you can really feel the difference. I Imagine with a lighter rim it would be easier too.
