I'm still used to my old car and still hold on the shift knob on my automatic Z. I miss driving a stick.

lol My buddy drives his mustang like its m/t, instead he goes L, 2 then D...even drops it in neutral to roll back a bit at a red light with no illuminating brake lights..(i guess he likes to throw a hint that his car is stick)

I know its sad.

Just a matter of time now before his transmission goes to hell.

you shouldn't drive an manual with your hand resting on the shifter, you need 2 hands on the wheel for maximum corner control

I'm sorry but thats one of the greatest things I've ever read.

I remember the 1st Z i test drove was a 04 35th 5spd anniversary track edition, i couldn't keep my hand off the shifter I really felt like I was driving a 6spd, I also like the digital read out which tells you what "gear" you are in.

Either on the shifter or on my thigh/wheel.

Classic!!!

The only thing I like with automatics is when I am on a date...my right hand is free to do whatever it wants....

No Richie, I don't know what you mean. You mean if she knows how to double clutch, and slam gears?

I smell a transmission fetish, and eye don't mean a drivetrain.

some bashing of Richie? IM IN.

+1 on the thigh or rested on top of this shifter. What's nice about the automatic is it's as quick as a person shifting, or even quicker (at least with the newer ones)

My friend's dad has the same G as you lol, we took it out one day around the empty mall parking lots, shifts are surprisingly quick, and the handling is robust, not to mention the HR is smooth as eggs.

Yeah people are surprised with the G. The GF likes how when you get on it it's nice and quick, but then when you take it easy it can be very civilized. Those Z's though...sometimes I regret going with the G instead of the Z.

I'd like both.

Sometimes the Z has a ride that can break your legs.

Shame that I never got to test drive a G, I even went to coconut creek Infiniti to go look at a few. But the cheapest one i passed by was $28k used.

Coconut Creek is a gay, I and my GF's father have both had very very bad experiences there. I think it would be fun to have the Z for awhile, but I like living with the extra 2 doors and a backseat and a trunk and all the other nice amenities in the G. But boy would a Vorteched 08 GT be nice.
