I was curious as to how each of you wash or wax your car, or better yet, what products do you use to wash and wax? Usually, My family uses Meguairs and really havent strayed to far from it, but luckily, my brother used to work at a detailing place so he took allot of there chemicals which work really good. Meguairs is alright but I want to use somethin else.

i normaly use turtal wax... good stuff... want to try meguires though...

i basicaly spray the water on the car with a nozzel... so it dont hurt the paint... (minimal but hey its my baby...) then just wash from top to bottom. the rinse the same with out the nozzel... from top to bottom... repeat it... the splash the rest of the water int he bucket n the car {i dotn know why.... just a ritual (SP?)} then dry from top to bottom... re wetting each section so it dont get water spots( i live in so cal and it dries real quick) skipping the windows cuse they dont dry fast... then after that get the window and go over it with windex. then the interior is just vac. and use turtel wax's interior stuff on all my vinyl and plastic (god i love that stuff.. used it for the first time i washed my car after i got it from my mom... the dash looked grey... turns out i have a blue dash :D lol

there ya go...

how about you?

Yeah, I usually use turtl on the interior, but as for outside, i use the 3 step meguiars thing, looks pretty good, and lately on my brothers car, he has been using the clay bar and it shines really nice, i would recommend the clay bar thing.

When I wash my cars I take two buckets of soapy water and two terry cloth sponges. I start on the roof with the first bucket and work my way down to the water line on my car allowing all the contaminants to wash to the ground. I take the second bucket and wash everything from the water line down to the wheels. I have found by using two buckets and sponges, you cut down on reapplying contaminants to the car.

Go with Cold_Zero's wash, then, grab an orbital buffer, Meguiers gold class LIQUID wax. Apply with the wooly pad, buff with terry, or hand towels. No pressure, do it in the shade, wax goes on buffer, not car, spin pad, spiral wax outward. shiny shiny.

mine is very simple. i get some liquid dish soap, water, and a sponge. i wet the car, wash it with the soapy water then spray it off. after that i dry it. very simple plan. i havent wshed my car in weeks. its very dirty but i dont really care. sometimes when i really feel like making it pretty i use windex on the windows inside and outside.

First off, get a bucket and fill with mcguiars, get car with a nice soapy lather and get a CLAY BAR and rub into body and glass, trust me on this okay? keep on redipping the clay bar into the bucket and rubbing on car, then when the car has been clayed, sponge it again, rinse, dry, and a }pply a showroom liquid gloss to the car. you will find that a wax job is pretty much useless with this technique

Uh, since nobody else has said it, using dish soap is badbadbadbadbad. It strips the wax from your car

What I use is a lil expensive, but well worth it. Car looks great outside and inside all the time. I wash at least once every two weeks if not every week. I use all Zymol products. That stuffs the ****. Nuff said.

PLEASE don't ever do this again (ecspecially with your car dropped), I just did that last wednesday, It cost me my apexi N1 exhaust and some body work. I always washed it by hand, but I was really tired that day and I was busy the following weekend, which is when I usually wash my car, never washed my 240 yet, because the paint looks like **** and I'm not even gonna bother with it untill I repaint it.

I usually wash my car with meguiars gold class shampoo, but I don't use a spray nozzle, just let the water run from hose naturally. Soap up the car, wash it off, soap it up again, wash it off, I spray eagle one wheel cleaner on the wheels while cleaning it up and let it sit for like five minutes. I then dry the car off with an old beach towel, I don't know what it's made out of but its super soft. I wax it with mother's carnuba wax, and every other time I use turtle wax color coordinated wax, since my civic's black, it doesn't leave any of that cakey white crap behind, and it's really nice. I use turtle wax tar remover to clean up my exhaust, this stuff is great for anything that's really stuck on, and also for removing that black sootish crap that builds up on your exhaust, also good for stubborn brake dust. And I use meguiars interior care on the inside, great and smells nice too. Nothing like a sparkly shiney nice smelling car to start your weekend off.
