Fragmented board topics would only work if one could post to two or more boards simultaneously.

A spelling checker would be a nice addition also.

Hi, all.

The new site is cool!

But separating out all the posts into model-specific subgroups is painful. (As it is, on the old site, I had to remember to look at the online mechanic section too!) Where does one draw the line? How about model year specific? What if the post is general enough?

Don't get me wrong here! I am all in favor of improvements, but I think that a single section devoted to "all things Infiniti" is far superior! I am a fan of all Infiniti cars (even have my wife considering allowing me to get a new G35  ) and would not mind reading posts on other models too! Separate sections makes it a tougher navigation - we all share the highway, why not the NICO site?

So, please consider this a strong vote for a single section for all Infiniti models.

Thanks, Fred.

The more I use it, the more I like the site. It is definitely a lot faster, too! FWIW, I still feel the same way about having a single section for all Infiniti posts - navigation through the hierarchy is still confusing.

BTW, Fred.

Your profile entry for the personal web site for you needs a bit of fixing. It has just the test "http://www." and this makes it look like you have a web site set, but it does not take you anywhere! :)

You may want to delete all the text in that profile item, or set it to what you do want it to be!

I like the new format the more I see it - just hope the old posts will migrate... I'll be posting a lot here to get rid of that damn "driving mom's car" tag line :p

I'm definately on the side of keeping the Infiniti board as one list... I know I've answered several J30 questions just from what I've learned on the Yahoo board and over on NICO I. It's good for someone to be able to get a fast answer to why their left headlamp is intermittant or the dash lights don't work.

Fred,

I would think, as this site tends to be dominated by Q drivers, that those w/ other models would be less likely to have their posts seen if the site is differentiated by model. This is to say that other models (Gs,Is,Ms) posts might not recieve the same amount of views/input, as people would tend to naturally migrate to their own model forums. I appreciate the input I get from Q (and other model) drivers on my J.

Hi, all.

I like the new NICO board a lot more now, particularly since themonarch changed it to one general Infiniti section! :)

One minor silliness  ! How come the letters "a" "s" "s" are censored when they are fully enclosed in other words? See my sig below for the word "b" "y" "p" "a" "s" "s" "e" "d" (only relevant for now till I change it later ...)

Okay, my sig has changed, so the above is not relevant, but the question still stands!

Hi!

One minor enhancement request for "themonarch".

I use a high-resolution monitor, running at 1600 x 1200 pixels. But this window used for entering the text (the "Your Reply" window) is not very wide at all.

Can it be made more dynamic? I.e., become wider [horizontally] automatically, when the screen area allows it, so that I can see more of the text? Or perhaps a profile configuration option if dynamic is not possible?

Ah! Now you have found out about my other toys! :D

The monitor on my home PC is a 21" Sony with .22mm dotpitch. Expensive , but I can display full pages in word processors without any blurriness. My new Dell laptop (back and forth from work) has a 15.1" LCD display - also at 1600x1200 pixels.

now just get Matrox's new Parhelia graphics card and you can surf in 3d mode with 3 monitors at once.

Yes, indeed! I saw the article on it recently. Very cool, but that is more a PC gamer's wet dream than a solution that works well for my needs. :D I'll stick to my Nvidia GeForce 3 (soon to be 4) cards - even my laptop has 64MB GeForce graphics !

But, enough of the fun geek toys! :) Let's get back to the topic of Infiniti cars!

Since this poll has served it's purpose now in getting us our general infiniti forum, I guess we can shut it down..

My desktop is a 21" with 1280x1024 resolution.

My laptop is 15" with 1600x1280 resolution, or sometimes the lower one above.

I remember the days when all web pages were designed for 800x600 - it was painful to watch the graphics bleed over the text.

The small data entry boxes are still a problem, like Z has said.
