Daily driver?Street Cruiser?Drag Racer?Buisness Car?

I use mine as a daily driver to get from point A to point B and every once in a while, point C. Mainly from work to home which I hate but since it's the only running car I have it must do it. One intresting note. I have had the car over 3 years and I haven't put 30k of my own miles on it yet. It had 38k when I got it, today it has 66k on it. Not bad.

What do you guys do with your alties?

i have an o2 altima 2.5s and i use it for daily driver and street cruiser, nice looking car, i love its comfort, girls seem to like it (of course its not like a vette, but not an old beater either) and its pretty quick for runnin redlights and such, speaking of which, i bagged me another o1 6cyl mustang:D

I haven't bagged anything in a long time. Last thing I bagged was a automatic SE-R sentra, one of the new ones but I couldn't tell if it was a Spec V or not.

I use my 01 Altima for daily commute. It is a sleepr. The only giveaway is the Venom sticker and the muffler. As of now, the biggest meal I've had is a factory stock Mustang V8. I've been smoked by a NSX. I hope to one day turn my car into a potent VTEC hunter.

i went to the races tonite and got me a 98 honda accord 6cyl baby, my first 6cyl kill since my friends 95 camaro (w/125k on it), i got the accord by about 1/2 car length, and just to let u know the easiest way to tell if its a spec v or not is the wheels, the spec v has very obvious 17' 5star wheels, while the reg se-r has 6spoke 16' wheels, makes a very obvious difference once u see em, and nice kill btw

around here I haven't seen one 2nd gen thats modded. its mostly a 1st and 3rd gen area. i like my 1st gen, but depending on what nissan tells me is wrong with it, i may just get rid of it.

do u have an auto? the reason i ask, is i have a friend with a 99 prelude auto/sportsshift and he runs consistant 16.4s with an intake and without the spare tire, i found this to be fairly slow, are u familiar with these cars?

I just defected from the Honduh camp. I used to have a 1996 Integra that I occassionally took to the track. I just bought a 1995 Altima 5 spd, and I plan to use it as a daily driver with plenty of track use!

Wife uses the Altima as the Daily driver. We also use it for long distance trips. The '02 and up Altimas are great road cars for long distances. Its huge trunk is great for all your luggage needs. I still have all my gas receipts and I need to figure out my mileage on our trip to Massachusetts.

I never took the 'Teg to the track in that sense, so I never knew how quick it was in the 1/4 mile. I hate drag racing. Sorry :) Only auto-x and raod racing for me. As far as mods go:

Spoon drop in airfilter in the stock airbox with a removed resonator and a custom intake arm; DC Sports header; custom mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust with an ES Oval muffler; lightened flywheel; ACT clutch; Neuspeed short shifter. Basically a few mods to make it breathe better and accelerate better.

I also had Eibach springs and Koni shocks, and a Neuspeed strut tower brace. I used the factory rims, and the tires I had when I sold the car were bald Falkin Azenis. I also had a semi-gutted interior.

I sold the 'Teg to my sister, and she drives it with basically the same mods. (She changed the shift knob :))

It's pretty fun. I am however, by no means an expert. It is also time consuming. I plan to take my Altima as far as I can go, and this will require a ton of preperation to be competitive I suspect. The first things I plan to concentrate on are braking, tires, suspension, and of course, safety. My Altima has drums in the rear, so some sort of rear disc setup will be in order. Any good reccomendations? Thanks.

there are many brake upgrades that you could do to your altima, most will be custom as the altima doesnt exactly have a huge aftermarket support, if u have money, go to brembo or wilwood, or u could just steal some calipers off of a z32, i tell u what, one of the strongest brakes on a production car that ive seen were the old 3ooogt brakes, they had 6piston front calipers and 4 in the back, mitsu did this cause the car weighed 36oo+lbs, and if u can find some of those calipers, and hell discs arent that expensice, get some steel braided brakes lines, and high performance brake fluid, and you'll have amazing stopping power for your 29oo lb (well close to it) altima

I'm getting rid of my 1st gen as soon as I find a suitable s13 hatch. I will use the money from my altima to pay for a SR swap.
