How do you turn the engine manually?

Hey all...I need help with just what it says. I think my timing is off and i need to know how to manually turn the engine to see if everything is ok. So how would i go about doing this?

do yu want to start the car or just turn the crank to line up the timing marks?

get a socket wrenh and a socket (1 1/16"maybe) and put it on the bolt inside the crank pulley and start wrenching.

27mm on a KA. Turn it clockwise.

Thanx every for your help. Im in the process of tearing my engine apart to replace the timing chain. Mine skipped a couple teeth which was causing my car not to start. Looks like ive got quite alot of wrench turning to do
