Hello,I have a couple questions on modifying the nissan rogue.|1) Can anyone help me take apart the dash? Like what tools i need, where the screws/clips are located?

2) Is an in dash kit for the rogue just a plug n' play kit or do you have to do some extra wiring (I don't have steering controls so that's not a problem).

3) And the final question for now is what are some in-dash kits that interest you? I read some topics on the kenwood and alpine but I'm just curious. I already have the Smart Mirror installed with a navigation system and a rearview mirror. I simply want a system that looks good and I can control my ipod straight from the dash. I don't have a bose system so i can use the PXAMG cable.

Thanks for the help

A pic of that would be nice.

As for the rest, I think you will find useful information in the service manual available to download here. Check in the FAQ, I think the link is overthere.

I'd definitely suggest a dash removal tool. You can certainly use a flat head screwdriver but you run the risk of marring pieces.

If you can't find a service manual or other online reference these install instructions for the Panavise bracket for the Rogue might help you out. Installation of the Panavise bracket requires removal of the head unit.http://www.panavise.com/pdf_indash/751311508.pdf

You might need to better define what you mean by "dash kit". Dash Kit typically means the plastic bezel and brackets that go around the aftermarket head unit to fit it to the dash. Wiring harnesses, iPod intefacing and steering wheel interfacing are typically separate items AFAIK.

For example. here's the Scosche dash kit. It's just this piece in the photo:http://www.scosche.com/products/productID/1645

Why are you looking into a dash kit if you're not replacing the head unit? If you're getting an aftermarket head unit then get one with an iPod interface and then you won't need something like the PXAMG.

Oh, I already saw that in the past. Was that easy to install in the Rogue? From what wire did you power it?How do you update the GPS database?

Here where I bought my tools (that is what they use for aircrafts, so should be good for cars too, right?): Link to plastic tools
