I am about to give up on my digital gauges, so I think I may jsut go for analog ones instead of paying out the @$$ to get the digital unit fixed. I may as well go for a JDM cluster as well, since I will be doing an SR swap soon. Thanks for any info. BTW, the car is a 91...

Go find what on e-bay? The cluster? You can get that at a junk yard. Its not like they're that rare... i've seen like 1 out of 10 at the one here (but i dont know how thing are out in norcal). Anyway what about the "heads up" display? I wonder if that will work with non digital cars...

hud only came with digi clusters, and he said he wanted the jdm one, which is from japan, which wouldnt be in a us junkyard.

Does anyone know if the pinouts on the JDM harness are different.

I just did a SR swap and thought about using the JDM harness and cluster or JDM harness with US cluster.

BTW...I am running a digidash and hud in 93 SE (which I don't think came with the digital optio) and it works fine.

Cool. I just didn't know with all the SR pin outs being changed up in the interior harness is it would be the same of the cluster harness.

Nevermind it's cool. I was talking about how the engine harness had to be spliced inside the car, but it dosen't matter. Thanks for the info.

I was under the impression that a JDM cluster wouldn't work with the KA because the tach signal is different. If I'm right, what's the point of getting a JDM gauge cluster if you don't have the SR motor?

Hey guys, out of curiosity, is it the same to use a junkyard US cluster, meaning, do I need to get a new harness to use a US cluster instead of my digital w/hud? (sorry to barge in on your post rico05)

The harness is different for the digi cluster/hud and the analog cluster. You will need to get the harness to swap clusters from digi to analog.

I have both a 92 digi cluster (usdm) and a92 analog cluster (usdm) in front of me right now and they use totally diffrent plugs on the rear. The digi uses 2 big, 1 small, and one for hud that does not need to bee hooked up to operate. The analog has 3 or 4 small plugs. Hey whats wrong ith your digi setup? what broken?

Well crap. So basically, I need to buy a USDM cluster and harness, then get a JDM cluster w/ harness when I get my SR here in like 5 months? Darn....This sucks hardcore...

Ok, does the HUD and digi gauges work on an SR?

It does not matter what motor is in the car, Just cause you swap the motor does not change anything about the gauge cluster.

if you have an 89/90 car, and keep the sr speed sensor, the speedo and tach will not work, if u have a 91-94, the cluster will work, if he gets the jdm one now, it will work fine, he has a 91, and doesnt want to pay to get th digi fixed, now drop it

I can see the similar ends to the harness. Looks like a direct clip in affair. Thanks for posting that VitaminT!

hey rick, the black 240 in the junkyard here still has the analog cluster, so you should be able to gank the harness out of it...

it is at HWY 6 auto salvage, the cluster is fuxored, but the harness should still be good
