The boot FS thread reminded me. I have a boot that's never been folded to be put in the bag/trunk, so I'd like to keep it that way. Right now its sitting on a shelf, but its taking up too much room.

My current thought is that I'm going to put up a couple 1x4s in the garage and screw 4 of the extra snap screws I have into it and try to hang the boot on the wall by the snap screws. Anyone tried this? My only concern is that the snaps on the boot may separate eventually from the weight. Only option there would be to have a strap to around it and support it in the middle (or 2 straps maybe).

Thoughts? And when I get this done, maybe the weekend I'll take pics for those who don't get the concept.

If you have some rafters in your garage or storage shed, you can slide it up there out of the way.

Mine is currently folded up in my parents' tool shed in its bag. I think I've put it on twice ever. Such a pain, I just left it in the shed.

I would love to figure out what to do with mine. As of right now it is laying flat on my carpet in my livingroom of my apartment that I share with my roommate. He must be very understanding cuz it's just sitting there in front of the sliding patio door. And it has been there since February. I do move it when I vacuum though.

Garage is in the basement and ceiling is flat/covered. I do have a wall separating the sides of the garage and one side is exposed 2x4s, so that's where I'm going to try this. Think if I just go with 1 or 2 straps (3-4 inches wide) to support the boot while it hangs on the snaps I should be good.

Hopefully I'll have time Sunday to try this out.

Actually, when I had a garage with exposed 2x4s, I anchored two large screws and hung the boot, but from the other end so the snap parts would be hanging down. My boot, in the corners, has a hard plastic edge on the backside of it (towards the trunk side) and it hung very well on the screws. It never fell off and it hung on the wall like a pretty boot picture.

My boot's not that pretty, but it's better than nothing. I always fold mine to put it in the trunk when the top is up. In the winter, I fold it up, put it in the bag, and store it in my basement. It keeps it's shape even after the 6-month Michigan winter.

i keep it in the trunk, folded twice over and it retains its shape nicely. car came with the boot cover but not the bag. if it does get outta shape a little, the sun warms it up and it goes back.

Can I have it?

Got my little project done. Don't have any good extra straps, so for now a rachet tie strap will do, the bag is in the trash bag on the quickly made shelf since it's never used (but no, not going to get rid of it). Everything worked out nicely. One of the snaps could actually hold the entire weight of the boot, but didn't want to stick with that.

For good measure, finally got around to putting up a couple posters in the garage.
