I guess I'm a blend of Fetus and Yearner. My legs are generally pretty straight, but my arms tend to curl up around my head.

Does that mean I'm almost sensitive, but not quite? I think I probably fit the yearner personality type more closely.

I remember as a kid I would always wake up facing an entirely different direction or on the floor half-way out of the bed. Doesn't happen anymore though.
I've been gradually cutting the caffeine out of my diet so unless there is caffeine in bottled water I don't think that that is my problem...

A co-worker lost everything several years ago in a house fire, two weeks before Christmas. He and his family were standing out in the snow in their PJs watching the fireman put the fire out. For the first year after that, he slept fully clothed, including his shoes.
While I've never had to experience the tragedy of a house fire I have had to deal with hurricanes and tornadoes, the sleeping with my socks on has been a thing I've done since I was a little kid, I hate feet plain and simple. As far as having my clothes ready, while I have never experienced a house fire or anything of the like I have an inherent fear that I'm going to lose everything I own in a house fire or will get murdered in my sleep by a burglar, so I keep clothes ready to go and if the g/f would allow It I'd have a loaded shotgun under the bed and a handgun in my pillow. What can I say, I'm super security conscious and have thought someone was trying to kill me since I was like 10. I know I have issues.

Unless I'm really tired I have to go through a progression... start on the back, then side, then freefaller. If I happen to fall asleep on my back I'll wake up within an hour and roll over. Weird huh?

Every once in a while I will fall asleep with my hand under my pillow, and wake up with the whole damn thing insanely numb.

Its amazingly hard to even turn your torso, let alone lean over and reach up to turn on the light with one arm completely dead.

true that.

I tend to move around a lot...from sleeping at the head of the bed to the foot and all different postions.

I like to sleep to the fullest, never miss anything!

if someone's in the bed, I'm confined to certain positions, like a dog on a leash.

I sleep on my stomach with one knee up against my chest and my other leg straight out. Ryan oft complains of a knee jabbing his back. Sorry. If I'm not like that, I'm curled up in a ball. So I guess fetus?

Good point. Do you sleep in a different position when you are sleeping with someone else? Some people don't even touch (weird).
I'm like that. I have a hard time falling asleep usually and whenever I sleep next to my gf I just can't get comfortable enough to fall asleep if I'm holding her.

My bed sucks, the box frame is busted, the springs in the mattress are shot (some are broken), it's all lumpy and there is no comfort left in it whatsoever. Can't get a new bed because frankly we can't afford one, especially one that we like. Why the hell do beds have to be so freaking expensive?

this may support my claim that i have multiple personality disorder, jk. on my bed i mostly sleep in free fall or fall asleep in a yearner/log/fetus mix and wake up in free fall. however if i'm on the couch, i mostly fall asleep in "full vampire" and wake up in the yearner/log/fetus mix. I have no recollections of when i change positions during because i sleep as dead as a log.

I slept freefall almost my entire life. Then I was told it was likely a contributing factor in my ongoing neck/upper back problems. My doctor did a range of motion check and I can turn my head an extra 10° to my right because of all the years of sleeping like that with my head turned that direction. I force myself to fall asleep in different patterns now even though it feels unnatural to prevent my body from "breaking-in" to any one particular.

During the weekend, I usually sleep long hours, and if my neck can cramp-up if I sleep too long on one side, so I start out with a soldier and convert to whatever as the night goes on. During the week, I am more concerned with falling asleep fast, so I do the most comfortable (after freefall) for me, which is having my legs both lay flat, like in freefall, but rotating so my upper body is sideways, more like yearner.

Nice and comfy.
Sounds a lot like that actually, I do the one leg thing as well sometimes.

I guess freefall? Doesn't really resemble my sleeping position though...and I'm none of the things freefall says except outgoing.

I'm a "crazy" sleeper... (well that option). I move a lot n' put pillows over my head and in between my legs. I have a tendency to curl up like a cocoon with the blankets n' then toss them ALL on the floor.

And even though it's completely off-topic, since you got me in the mood (no, not that mood, I'm tired), some of my favorite Petty songs:
