hey, yes I am a newbie, but my friends and I tried to put a cone filter on my 240 and it was sooo sensitive, my car stalled immeadiately and then the engine light came on. My teammate said that there is a switch to turn it off or something. Is there a switch? If not thats okay, my homeboy's uncle is Jim Wolf.

the only way to turn it off is to find whats causing the light to turn on. If you have a repair manual on the car check there, and see what code its giving you. Or first since you didn't have the problem before the filter install, look around there first check your mafs. It could be loose. Its a diagnostic issue, not just an annoying light.and BTW welcome to NICO

Your "teammate" is kinda correct...

There is a screw/knob on the ECU that you can use to put it into diagnotic mode and read why the CEL came on.

See 240SX.org under the FAQ...

I don't see why it would have stalled, unless you didn't install it right. I had just a cone filter on my intake before I got my CAI, and it installed fine, didn't have a single problem. Make sure you you reconected all of the vacume hoses and all of that, check and make sure you reconected all of the sensors, check the MAFS like the other guy said, and give us a pic of the job, so we can give you further advice.

if it causes heavy turbulance around the hotwire, it can confuse the ECU and the MAF will put out an erratic signal.
