Here is a 60 question test on basic history of the US. It will take about 20 minutes to take and them you'll be scored. The national average for April is something like 67%. I'm embarrassed to have a 73%. However, there are several economic type questions that I can truly plead ignorance on.

Give this a try. It's a humbling Civics quiz.

I am taking the quiz right now. On question 3 all the answers look wrong. I believe we are a Constitutional Federal Republic.

And what does Plato's Republic have to do with American Civil Literacy??

Wait until you get to the economics part. Most of the time I just had to eliminate the wrong ones and that would expose the answer. This is the test they gave to graduates of prestigious universities and they bombed it.It is definitely not easy.

Mad you think and was challenging. I had never read the Republic and never heard of the Marbury v Madison case either...I picked Foreign Aid but was considering Military..I had alway never heard of Keynesian economists.

You answered 41 out of 60 correctly — 68.33 %Average score for this quiz during April: 68.1%Average score since September 18, 2007: 68.1%

Looking back, 1/3 of the questions I missed were simply because I did not read all the available answers (I get bored easily).....

That's because a lot of students these days get their news from the Colbert Report or John Stewart. Or they watch reality TV, look for things mainly for pure entertainment, and are involved in the instant gratification part of our culture. They also tend to be closed-minded...some of the editorials in the student paper here just boggle my mind.

But if you put me and cold zero together, we only get 2 or 3 wrong...he did better in the 1st half, I did better in the 2nd half.

I will admit my strong point is not Economics. That is for sure.

I didnt feel so bad, I sent the quiz to my cousin and he scored one less than I did. I look up to him as a very smart man.
