I have came to this website many times for my 240sx, and have always had good advice. I'm trying to replace my front wheel bearing on my other car a 2002 mitsubishi diamante, it's abs. I can't get the friggin castle nut off.... I have tried pb blaster, and a breaker bar and jumped up and down on it with all my wait... everything.. Am I missing something? I'm tempted to cut it off.... any suggestions?

put the wheel back on the car drop the car down take out the middle cap from the rim use the right size ratchet bit and a torque wrench step on it with your foot and you should be good

Are there reverse threads on that axle?

No. Regular threads on the axle shaft. I wouldn't suggest cutting it off because that's what holds the axle in the bearing.

I tried heating it up. I even tried stepping on it... I'm bout to take the car in =( . Sheesh this car is so hard to work on, unlike my 240! Any other suggestions? I'm really a do it yourself type person, but I'm about to break this thing

i know this might sound dumb but did you pull the cotter pin that locks it? If you did then you can try using a dremel or something to cut lines into the sides of the nut to loosen the tension or chiseling into the lines after youve cut them to crack them.

Yeah I was thinking using a dremel... but ended up trading in the car for a 08 accord for the wifey. Some mechanics told me I need a special pressure type tool to take off and put on the castle nut. I'm going to stick with working on my 240, these newer cars are a pain for the everyday home mechanic.

how about tryin a half-inch air gun with a proper socket? Axle nuts are usually torqued to almost 200ft-lbs than u have the rust that builds up on threads. An airgun will most likely do it for you.
