Read the ECU per the FSM or use a Consult with the right cards.

OBD I is pretty stupid, and doesn't indicate codes until things have failed.

The link will tell you how to read the codes once you get the ECU out of the passenger side kick panel.

To get to the ECU on a 94-95 you first pull down the 15" X 15" panel below the glove box. No tools required for this piece, just gently pull down and unplug. Next you'll need to remove the kick panel that is located where your passenger's little toe on the right foot would touch. Pull back the one inch square carpet tab and remove the nut beneath it with a 10mm socket. The panel can now be pried out. Don't worry it's pretty sturdy and won't break in half.

Once the kick panel is out you'll see the ECU. Unfortunately the Infiniti design engineers made this compartment about 1/2" too small and it can't be removed until it is unplugged. Remove the blue connector with the same 10mm socket making sure that the connector stays parallel to the ECU as you back it out. Don't get it sideways or it may crack and you're screwwd.

When the ECU is unplugged you can remove the 2 or 3 screws holding it in place. YOu don't want to strip these screws- The longer the screwdriver the better. When you have the ECU removed, bolt the connector back in and your ready to read the codes. The instructions are on the back of the ECU and the link I posted will be very helpful.

All this sounds complicated but it's really quite easy and once you've done it one time it will be a breeze the second time. Save yourself some repeat work and leave the ECU on the floorboard for a few days until you're sure you have the problems fixed. Make sure the ignition is in the ON position to read the codes. Have fun.

Doesn't the Q get an inspection every 90 days [oil change] where technicans look to find things they can charge you to fix?

If you haven't replaced knock sensors and their harness, 14 years is the typical time [10 years+].

Shakey idle is probably fuel injectors if a sudden onset, assuming idle speed is set correctly.

Its actually came on rather gradually over several months. It would idle roughly for a while then run smooth. Then it would be fine for several days. Now it is getting consistently worse.

It has 210k miles so im am debating putting any more money into it.
