I'm fairly sure that many of us have issues with our TPS sensors being set correctly. It comes up as a possible solution for idling problems, stalling on deceleration, etc... So this thread should be helpful for many people.
Can someone (Carl?) do a step-by-step guide on how to properly set the TPS? I think this would be very helpful... for me and others.
Also, how does this relate to the Cam Angle Sensor... can you adjust the timing with the CAS by simply rotating it clockwise or counter-clockwise? To do that do you need to reset the TPS afterwards?
Thanks!!!
the TPS you just use a multimeter and read the voltage across it. it should be .5V at fully closed if i remember correctly. Car does NOT need to be on, its purely a potentiometer i believe. Give it ign and you should be able to see theh volts off it. Don't think it matters what the WOT voltage is, as long as the closed voltage is ~.5.
Just loosen the two slider screws so your tps can turn a bit. turn it to desired position then tighten it down.
As for the CAS, I believe the car must be on AND at the base timing. There were some steps to do this.. i think unplug IACV and some other steps, but I don't remember right now. Someone else can write that one up
