So, I've been a contributing member of this site for a couple months now and I thought I knew a lot about this site until the other day... A friend and I were talking and he pronounced this site (Phoenetically) Nee-Ko-Club but all this time, I've been pronouncing it Nigh-Ko-Club

How does everyone pronounce this site? Is this a regional dialectial issue? Have I been pronouncing it wrong this entire time by calling it Nigh-Ko-Club? Is there a third way of pronouncing this site?????

No matter what the poll results are, I'll probably still call it Nigh-Ko-Club because that's just what I'm used to...

How do you say it?????

Dave

You say "Duh"... but I'd like to know why?

If your argument is that NICO is a derivative of Nissan Infiniti Car Owners then wouldn't it be Nhi-Ko-club (with a soft I?)

If you're saying that it should sound like the Nissan (Nee) then that doesn't make sense either because you are abandoning the Nhi soft I sound of Infiniti...

I didn't name the site so I don't know... I just want to know what the reasoning is behind this random Nee sound... and I'm kind of salty that my own poll is backfiring on me and making me look ignant so far... Why am I always the last to know about this $hit??? C'mon guys... Vote for Nigh!

I say Nigh because it gives a nod to Infiniti owners. Nee to me just addresses the Nissan aspect... I'm on your side ArizonaG35!

I always pronounce it Nee-Co

if you were to go Nigh-Co it wouldnt make any sense...

the only other way that makes sense is to use the short I sound as in sh*twhich just doesnt seem right

Been covered in General Chat a few times. According to Greg, it's "Knee-co" not "nick-o".

From the URBAN DICTIONARY...

nico 3. Nissan/Infinity Car Owners' Club The baddest club/forum/Nissan enthusiasts in the world. http://www.NicoClub.com

Nico 4. Nico is another name for carnie. Someone with dwarfed features, eg. hands.

nico 5. Nissan Infiniti Car Owners: http://www.nicoclub.comThe best site on the 'net for all things Nissan. The site is very informative and has many well educated individuals that will help you out.

I'm not arguing that it is Nick-O as in "Some guys can be a real Dik-O" But rather Nigh-Ko as in "That last doobie made me very High-Ko" is the way I pronounce it...

I always "knew" it was Knee-ko...

Think about it this way- Do you say Nigh-ssan? How about Ine-finiti?

Considering the phonetical sounds of those two names which are the basis for NICO, wouldn't it be safe to assume that NICO would be pronounced:

Nicko? or Knee-ko?

Also, I don't think there is a phonetic Nigh in Japanese.

ex. na, ni(knee), nu, ne (neh), no.

Veni- I came, Vidi- I saw, Vici- I conquered. Caesar spoke that message to be sent to the senate just after crushing Pharnaces' army.
