I had my car stolen recently and I am looking at security measures. I was going to buy this club immobilizer with coded key but someone said there is something at hardware store that can change code of key.

Why not just get an alarm with proximity detection with paging feature or install a kill switch to the fuel pump.

hidden fuel kill switch.. almost ALWAYS works. Do it good though. Tap the wires near the actual fuel pump and run a switch wayyyyy far away from it, tape up ALL wires good and you're set.

Most theives don't take the time to tear apart your car to find something so simple..

i was talking to a guy and he said he had a fuel kill switch and his car was stolen, using a long wire to short everything out. an expensive immobilizer is the best.

i need to find a place where it would be difficult for thief to short out . for now, i just pull one of my spark plug wires hoping thief is not carryng one .

if you goin to take any of the wire at least take the coil wire. a 240 can run on 3 cyl. not well but it will still run. but if your going to take any thing off take the rotor. that way it will for sure never start.

Get a boot and a bunch of fake tickets. I bet they won't steal it then, they'll think the cops will be after it.

I take the coil wire and one of the spark plug wires. the coil wire is pretty universal.

my immobilizer just cuts the starter wire with a relay that has to activated by special module. I think i will put a fake relay on my starter wire and put the real relay under my fuse box. i will sabotage one of the fuses. they won't think to look there unless they read this.

My mom's caddy has a built in one stock. You have to swipe a key across a certain part in the car and it will then let you start the car.

The problem is that the relay can be bridged. The thief will have to open the hood of the car, though. I don't know how much of a deterrent that is.The relay will be pretty obvious.

You need an immobilizer relay hard to get eg between solenoid and starter motor. you would have to take your starter motor out to install the relay.

I don't think there should be a diode or any switch in the open. You don't want to give the thief the information that there is a relay somewhere to be bridged.

I am getting a sticker that says the police can pull my car over from 1am to 5am.
