Hey People!!I am pretty new to Infiniti and the Japanise cars in general. I have a BMW and have had 3 already. Recently I test drove the new G37S Coupe. I really liked it. The first time something would get me thrilled as much as a BMW.

I am looking to find out if any of you have had any problems with his/her G37. Any common problems???I would greatly appreciate your help!

Well if you buy a new 09 one you have nothing to worry about. I work at a dealer and so far have seen nothing but smiles from G37 owners. Hell I dont have one and I love it. I've seen plenty of 3-series Bimmers get traded in for a Gcoupe as well, so I'm sure lots of BMW guys come away very impressed. And since the economy has squeezed some people, 3 to 5 grand is a lot for a car that is better(for the money).

I like mine so far...although it's not a coupe. Very comfortable and smooth ride for the most part. The 7-speed transmission could use just a bit of refinement. Maybe Infiniti will come out with a flash to address the shift points on the sedan - mostly on the 3-2 downshift while slowing down can sometimes be a little abrupt.

Yo Boko!

I car shopped for most of last year, test drove and really like the 335i but decided on my G37 Sport... No regrets, love it, get nothing but looks, smiles, and "Hey, nice car".

I have the 6-speed and feel the clutch is a little quirky, but no biggy

I am just tired of BMW. So many things went wrong on this car while under warranty, it is unbelievable. I also test drove many, many cars I would go for a joy ride day around the local dealerships. Too bad that G37 came up in '08.I just wanna get a car that I will take to the dealership only for an oil change.I like the German cars but I made more friends at the dealer than on the street. (That's a bit too much!! ) You get the point.

Side note, I actually purchased my G37 from Annapolis Infiniti while in Md. on business, then drove it back cross-country. I shopped 4 or 5 different Infiniti dealerships there in the Balto/DC area...Annapolis Infiniti sealed the deal for me...impecable service and would highly recommend the folks there.

Anyway, hope this helps if you chose to go G. Sorry to hear about the bad mojo with the 335i, I still like em...

How about those rattles in the interior or the squeaks from the A-pillar that people majorly complain about? It seems like a very common thing. I was reading through the posts on myg37.com and the primaraly problems seem rather cosmetic than mechanical.

P.S. The guys at the Annapolis Sheehy Infinity are such a rip off. When the economy was down and car sales were bad they were ready to sell me a G37S Blk on Blk for $31K. Last wek it magically went up to 35k. The guy said: "High demand". Sooo Funny!!!

So far so good for me on the rattles. Wow, $31k, that's stellar.

The only rattles I have is from the following:

1. Passenger seat belt buckle against the door (is fixed by popping the extension up)

2. Passenger seat belt "plugin" next to the console will rattle if it is not between the seat and the console.....Same problem I have seen with about every car that has a console

Otherwise, the others I get can all be associated with things I have in the console, glove box or ash tray making noises.

I have a funny clicking noise that is coming from somewhere around the part of the dash that goes up and down with the wheel. Haven't quite figured that one out. I mentioned earlier about my auto transmission bogging the engine and being jerky...I can live with that. No car is going to be perfect, but this G I have is the closest thing to perfect I have ever owned.

How do I like my G37 coupe.....Sunroof open, Music Box cranked up and full throttle exceleration.

See, I don't agree. The G is supposed to be luxury and getting a 6MT loses out on some of the nice sport mode options. Now, the 2008 6mt is probably a hair faster than the auto but the 2009 appears to have reversed that with the 7AT.

This all sounds very well. Over all Infiniti is one of the best in the reliability class.About the transmission, I just can't go with the automatic. I am sure it has nicer and smoother ride but I need the feel that clutch and gears rolling

Which is fine as I would have gotten a 6mt if the wife didn't need to drive it from time to time

I love my G35 but I think I have fallen in love with a New Car

I want a z4 M Roadster! FTMFW

I hate BMW but I love the M Roadster!

Actually I hate BMW owners. They don't make the best cars so they just need to get over it! They make a nice car but not the best!

That's so true about BMW owners. I have already had 3 of them and I am not that mean but if you look at the BMW forums it is only BMW and nothing else. The rest of the forums for Lexus and Infinity etc. people do recognize the good looks of the car. It is the eye catching effect of the car rather than reliability or performance. I personally think that the G37S is more sporty and aggressive than my 335i but still BMW is BMW. They definitely screwed it over with the twin turbo engine. Mine is 1.5 year old now I have been in the dealership over 5 times for repairs. The car has over 35 days spent at the local BMW and only 39K on the odometer. This spring I am getting a G37S.If you buy a BMW one day make SURE you have a good warranty and lots of patience.

Long story:

My dad's friend had just bought a BMW back in the 80's. Showed it off like a prized possession.Went on and on about it.While they were out on the driveway a guy was walking his dog past and stopped as they were talking and said "oh, the BMW ___, I used to deliver pizza's with one of those back in england"The look on my father's friend's face was so low!

I love my G, but do have room for love of other cars in my heart...except for Hondas, they are sphincters on wheels and should be removed from the planet.

I think you only hurt yourself if you focus on one type of car. There was a time I wouldn't have touched a car that didn't have a V8 in it. Once I decided that I was sick of American built crap and broadened my automotive focus, I bought and drove what I wanted and didn't care that my husband and my car club members call me "rice girl". I loved my S2000 and I love my G. I was only hurting myself being narrow minded.
