How do you like the transmission?

I have a M35X and i drive it pretty hard. Most of the time I am in the M mode and I always gun it, and I always shift before redline because I enjoy the acceleration.

However, a few times i noticed that while shifting, i hear a big and loud engaging sound from the transmission. This has happened more than once and I am just wondering what the other M35/45 owners are experiencing with their transmission.

Overall, I love the car, (3800 miles now), and besides the little things like not having a coin holder, hard to reach mirror adjuster and etc...i guess we can use more responsive transmission. maybe its time for a shifting kit/valvebody upgrade.

The trans is basically the same as the one on the G35 so places like IPT and level 10 probably can redo the valve body.

Just remember to refill with Nissan J Fluid. To avoid warranty concerns!

coming from the Supra/IS300 community, i have heard mix things about level10, not sure about IPT.

does anyone have the transmission service manual for the M35 transmission? and what is the transmission code?

From the supra guys I hear they love IPT compared to level ten
