Do you just splice the wires together, or how would you do it?

Alarms are relatively complicated to install. Some wires need to be tapped into, others need to be cut and the alarm needs to be wired inline. Many wires will be sourced from different areas of the car as well. You can probably save yourself a lot of hassle by having it installed by a shop for not much more than an alarm by itself. I did an alarm when I was young and vowed never to do it again. Though i did one earlier this year on my Max as the previous owner had put one in and the wiring was completely shotty. The alarm shop would have had to charge extra so I tackled that one myself.

if you've never done one, you probably shouldnt. you will get started and within 30 minutes you will be cursing yourself. and if you do it incorrectly, it can prevent the car from starting at all. just shell out the cash to have a shop do it.
