Yup when the switch to make cars safer which I think started in 2005 did that make the roof strength any better as well?

I do not know, but I expect that is the reason they are doing it.

There are plenty of rollover accidents recently, especially with high center of gravity vehicles i.e. SUVs, Jeeps, Vans etc. I think it's a good idea they're implementing this in all the post 2010 vehicles.

I can't think that this will not again add more weight to vehicles. This is the reason cars have difficulty slimming down. More and more standards.

I'm not saying that this wouldn't be more protective. Obviously, it will. But the same government that demands higher and higher fuel standards continues to keep adding more strict crash protection that can only usually be done by adding more weight which contributes to lower economy.

Early on in this forum someone posted photos of their Versa following a rollover and skid on the top. As I recall, they didn't even break any glass. I predict the Versa will pass these tests with no problems!

I hope the Versa does better than just good because, as we all know, insurance companies will try and make money any way that they can...

Why? you can't use the search and look for "rollover" or other obvious keywords?

I'm not too concerned with the ratings. There are about a zillion other causes of death. Just keep it rubber side down.

Thanks for finding the original post. I should have done it, I guess. Then I would have seen that she did break the driver's window, but not a big surprise since that's the side she rolled on. But the windshield did stay intact, as did the passenger compartment. Still gives me faith in our little car!
