I know where it is, behind the glove box behid a panel, but I cannot get that panel off. I took all of the screws out and it still woudl not budge.

Then I need to source an upgraded TCM of course. Will any TCM from an 03-06 Q or from an 03-04 M work? I am doing the TSB for acceleration my self.

The TCM is upgraded only through an ITB for the early models.

The TSB has been posted before, so you might check to see if your VIN is in the addressed sequence.

I appreciate you guys attention, but irrelevant questions and restatement of things I already know are not going to help me.

One last time:

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ACCESS THE TCM, I CANNOT GET THE PANEL BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX OUT TO GET TO IT, IT MUST BE REPLCED.

If you can tell me that or where to get the newer TCM or which models M45 Q etc, that is fine otherwise, please use the search function or at least read the entire thread before you post.

Ah, but with what? All the later F50 had the 3.13 differential.

See now that is actually helpful, Mine being an Early 02, what TCM will work, or will they all? Will the M45 03/04 work, what ration did they have? what ration does mine have? Does that matter to the TCM?

If Nissan replaced the whole TCU with the bulletin, then that would be a specific unit for the 2002 as it was the only one to have the 2.93(?) final drive.

Shifts points would be affected. Maybe TCS also. REgardless, it is programmed with the expected final ratio, which would throw off the speed calculations.

Speed is derived from ABS sensors unlike 4AT where there was an actual on transmission speed sensor.

Newer version of 5AT have TCU integrated in AT housing to minimize external wiring.
