Hi, there...

I am sorry for this stupid question about the keyless entry.

I went to the SeaWorld at San Diego a few weeks ago, and I hada hard time to find my J30 at the parking lot because I didn't memorizethe parking lot number. I know other cars have a beeping soundwhen we push the lock/unlock button with the keyless entry.

Since I have never seen any J30 around, I thought my J30 is quite normal, and my J30 doesn't make any beeping sound when I push the lock/unlockbutton on my keyless entry.

Is it right that J30 doesn't make any sound when I push the lock/unlockbotton? I know it blinks side lamps when I push th button at night.

If so, is there any way that I can modify my J30 to make a sound?Or how do you find your car in the huge parking lot if your forgotthe parking lot number?

Thank your for your answers in advance !!!Have a wonderful day ~~~

Best Wishes from San Diego,bwhan

Well.... okay. If you're really sorry.Quote »I went to the SeaWorld at San Diego a few weeks ago, and I hada hard time to find my J30 at the parking lot because I didn't memorizethe parking lot number.
There, see? You should memorize it.Quote »I know other cars have a beeping soundwhen we push the lock/unlock button with the keyless entry.
Well, lesser cars. Those without couth or style. We don't really associate that that rabble.Quote » my J30 doesn't make any beeping sound when I push the lock/unlock button on my keyless entry
No. They serve silently, and are proud to do so.Quote »Is it right that J30 doesn't make any sound when I push the lock/unlockbotton?
Yup.Quote » I know it blinks side lamps when I push th button at night.
I guess you're stuck until dark, then.Quote »If so, is there any way that I can modify my J30 to make a sound?
You could hold down the lock button until the panic goes off in two seconds. Press again to tell it to shut up.Quote »Or how do you find your car in the huge parking lot if your forgot the parking lot number?
Authorized owners don't forget things like that. However, your earlier apology will earn you a pass. This time.Quote »Thank your for your answers in advance !!!
You're welcome.Quote »Have a wonderful day ~~~
And you.

LOL@Defiant

along the lines of what he was asking though, is there any way to hook up some sort of audible alarm to the lock/unlock commands?? there has been a few times that i have parked my car out in the daylight, and not been able to see the lights blink, so i assume that the doors are locked, i get out to my car and grab the handle, and its open. any ideas?

You'd need to hook up a circuit that'd run a relay to either the regular horns, the alarm horn, or an extra (maybe piezo) horn, which would be triggered along with the lock-signal flashing circuit. I don't know how much fiddling it'd take to make sure it didn't go off with the turn or emergency flashers.I lock up from close enough that I can hear the door solenoids trip.

One thing I notice with the J30 is that the range on the remote is astounding. I can work mine from inside a building at 200 feet.

try holding down the lock button for a few seconds. That would set off the alarm. Then again the range on the remote sucks.

Well. can you beat that. I guess that military surplus "Antenna Booster" was a pretty good purchase after all.

Now I'm regretting passing-up the turret. Damn.

Thank you, all.

"Press the lock button on the keyless entry for a few seconds.Make it silent after my J30 makes periodic big alarm sounds."

That's what I wanted...^^I will memorize the parking lot number from now on,but I will use the way in case I forget it.

Thanks again to all who replied to my post !!!

But, seriously, I've got the same problem as xxcrashxx. I've tried two different fobs, with new batteries, and I still can't get any of the keys to work consistently unless I'm within a few feet of the car. Where exactly is the remote receiver and is there a way to boost the antenna?

Heres a thread i posted over at http://www.nissan-infiniti-forum.com for someone who wanted to get to the antenna box. i also suggested for someone to try and get the antenna line grounded to the car, possiably increasing the signal. but thats a theory thats goin on in my head.

first thing is in the back of the trunk here i circled the main plastic screws and there was an arrow pointing at one other screw, they are up towards the top part, then theres two plug i guess u would say lower on that panel. the inner part pops out, then u can use the little "handle" and pull that out. once all those are out, now to get the left side panel out. in this pic... u can see where the controller box is, if u wanna climb into ur trunk to get it, that works. but if u take off the side panel by removing the plastic screw under that plastic box thingie, and remove the screws inside the plastic box... its much easier to access. once u get that panel off, its pretty easy to access the controller box.. never mind the higher up circle, i forgot that i ripped out my back liner board thingie, without removing all the screws.

hope that helps ya out a bit. if u do find an answer to this, please let me know. im having the same problem. i was thinkin about somehow wiring the wire for the antenna directly to the metal in the car. that way it would use the car as an antenna. i didnt bother to trace where the wire goes to, so i dunno if thats the problem with the bad range or what. good luck

Thanks, crash! I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do with that information, but it certainly helps to have it.

Antennas have to be tuned to the frequencies they're intended to receive, so just throwing more wire on the remote reciever, or wiring it up to the radio antenna is pretty-much doomed to fail. And no, car bodies don't work, either, or they'd not bother with antennas at all (I've always wondered why they can't make the trunklid the antenna, but glass-mounted antennas fairly well demonstrate what a lame idea they are).I'm shocked that mine works so well, and there's no sign of "improvement" on the car. Remotes I've used with other cars also worked well.... if you were standing on the bumper.

Well, it turns out finally knowing where to find the receiver is proving to be quite useful. I discovered something interesting today. My remotes have the FCC ID: A269ZJA073. I've also seen some people selling A269ZUA073, and to the best of my recollection, the consensus was that the remotes are interchangeable (although possibly you can't program both kinds to work on the same car). But here's the thing...the receiver in my trunk says A269ZUA072. What is up with that? A search on Google finds only one other reference anywhere to 072 (in another thread on this forum). Could this really be the problem?

I suspect those numbers are the receiver/transmitter pair- you might be able to find out more on the FCC site, or if you send them an email, some of the government outfits are just begging for someone to write to. That xxxxx3 is the correct number for the J30 remote. They go for absurd bids on eBay, hardly ever less than $40, used. I believe the receiver will store input from four remotes.

I'm not sure what you're saying. Which numbers?

Again, not sure what you're saying. There's ZUA073 and ZJA073

Really not sure what you're talking about here. $40 is a helluva lot better than the $100+ it'll cost at the dealership.

Sorry, I was only looking at the 3. The correct J30 remote is A269ZJA073. I don't know if you can use the UA073.Quote »Really not sure what you're talking about here. $40 is a helluva lot better than the $100+ it'll cost at the dealership.
True, but it's absurd for a ten-year old used remote. Most other vehicles of that age have remotes in the $10 area. Dealer prices on remotes are usually highway robbery.

Okay, so were you saying you think the A269ZJA073 remote is supposed to be paired with the A269ZUA072 receiver?

Has anyone else checked the ID on their receiver?

Time to ask a cooperative dealer- but don't be surprised if they don't know, either. I'd not heard of anyone looking at their reciever before. It's not been an issue that I've heard of. But it is a good question.
