I have just cut my o2 harness plug off and MAF plug off and i see the shielded wire... i am not sure how i'm supposed to go about extending this, since it is shielded.... can someone give me some advice?

ok : went and cut up my KA harness to find about 2, 3.5 ft sections.. one that's 2 wire for maf and the one wire insulated for the O2 sensor. so when I connect them do I just connect and wrap the small wire(s) inside and then put the braids over them and put some aluminum foil and then electrical tape?

You need to use solder and heat shrink. It's essentially like soldering two wires. just take your time and do it right or you'll have problems in the future.

thanks, yes, I do not have a soldering tool, but i'm going to get one. I have learned that if you take shortcuts, they come back to haunt you! Thanks for chiming in! :-)

It really isn't necessary to keep the sheilding if you ground everything properly but; however; it is recommended. All you need to do is to run the main wire, pull the shielding back and wrap it together in one clump and run it like it's another seperate wire. Be sure to solder and heat shrink where you splice and then wrap the wires together in electrical tape, then put wire loom around them. Just make sure none of the sheilding part touches the main live wire. When your done you should have what looks like 2 wires running next to each other: the main wire and the sheilded wire.
