How do you do a compression check???

Hey guys, I have searched but couldn't really find anything, so here is my question. How do you perform a compression check???

p.s. reason why i am doing this is to just make sure motor is ready for f/i.

1: remove spark plugs2: un plug distributor3: screw in compression tester gauge4: hold throttle wide open5: hahaha forget you didnt unplug injectors7: unplug fuel injectors and remember you forgot step 68: get in car, hold throttle wide open, crank for 10 seconds9: take reading, and record.10: repeat for other cylinders.

just pull the fuel pump fuse instead of the injectors themselves.. at least i would think thats a easier way to avoid the fueling and do them a few differant times on the same cylinders to make sure you get a accurate reading ! i still havent done my CA im scared to see what the compression is across all 4 cylinders !!

Or pull the injector fuse. If you only pull the pump fuse you'll have gas spraying into the cylinders from the residual fuel pressure in the system. Not a big deal either way, but the mist could wash away oil from the rings, possibly affecting the reading (very slightly).

Well I actually did find that one, but the s13 had different distributor setup so I wanted opinions on how too, thanks though all of you regardless!
