Ive got machined face wheels, how do you clean them? Ive tried lots of products but cant find the right one yet. You can get them shiny but there will still be water spots on some areas. anyone know any tricks? thanks much

You use Never Dull?

I wouldn't use never dull as it has a high concentration of very strong solvents/petroleum distillates which can compromise the clear on the machined face.

Wash the wheels with soap and water, then blow them dry with compressed air or an electric leaf blower. Onve they are dry simply use a cleaber wax such as Meguiars cleaner wax (available at walmart) and a soft, clean microfiber towel to gently remove the spots. Just use light pressure, allow the wax to dry, then remove with another microfiber towel.

After you do this and have removed all of the spots, then you should be good. If you continue to see spots it is becasue you are aloowing water to dry on the wheels--either speed up your cleaning process, or stop washing your wheels in full sun. :D

If the wheels have a clear coat then why do you have water spots? You wash in the sun maybe?...Every bushed rim Ive seen is not clear coated. Never Dull or Mothers Mag polish works like magic on these wheels.

There is no clearcoat, they are machined face and thats it. Its weird, its like the water spots are absorbed into the metal. i will take pics of a close up, its not like u can just wipe them away. Its weird, I have had 5 sets of custom wheels and none like this that wont come clean.

I am going to try the never dull since there is no clear coat. where do u get the stuff?

How abt trying those wipes for cleaning steel surfaces. Forgot the name. Those wipes work like magic to remove water spots on steel finished dishwashers and refrigerators.

The black part of that wheel has no clear, the lip and machined face DO have clear on them. I have a set too. :D

Ive never seen a aftermarket wheel that was brushed or billet that had clear coat. Only OEM and then I stripped the clear because its just looks better.

Billet, sure, but almost every set of machined wheels that I have seen has clear coat. I have two sets of aftermarket wheels right now in my possession that are machine face--both are clear coated.

As far as brushed, all of the high quality wheel manufacturers that I have seen use clear over their brushed lips, centers, etc.

I try and take some pics of the different finishes that I see....
