how do you check the check engine light codes on 89 240sx

ONLY for ADVANCED technical discussion about the 240sx!

the check engine light is on. it is an 89 so there is no obd2 port. where is the computer so i can check codes, or what else can i check without just replacing sensors 1 at a time.
