How do you check for battery discharge when car is off?

My Mom's '91 loses voltage over night and has to be jumpstarted. I checked the door switches and the interior lights go out when the doors are closed. The battery was replaced about 3 months ago with an Infiniti battery that my Dad picked up from the Infiniti dealer. Anyways, How do you check for battery discharge with the volt meter? I want to compare the readings that I will get from my '90 that my Dad will get from their's.
