I don't... if you get a good exhaust.. it shouldn't rust!

I have Apxex-i Dual N1's so the whole piping is coated so it won't rust...

Your exhaust is built just like mine, BUT with time it will rust ... and I want to avoid it for as long as possible, thats why I need some advice.

I've known someone who has had Apex for well over 2 and a half years... and it is not even close to rusting.. so i think it should be fine for a long long time...

Whenever I'm at one of those "do it yourself" powerwash places, I always stick the gun underneath the car and make sure the exhaust gets a good cleaning.

It wont rust as long as it has a coating, but if the coating scrapes off, your stuck. Take all the gunk off the bottom of the car and check the piping. If you see a section that was scraped and the caoting has come off, take of the rust, and recoat. That should help.

I spray the exhaust from the sides of the car to cover all the piping.

(i tried my rally'n skillz in the back of this school and ummm...part of the car didn't make it and the exhaust tip was one of em'...when they say don't try this at home, don't try it at home or school.)

The key to longer life for your muffler is letting your car completely warm up, get it hot enough to dry up that moisture that collects inside. 5 minute trips to the Blockbuster then letting the car sit for days will shorten your muffler's life.

nope. exhaust's always make a little black smoke. look inside of your muffler, it will have black coating. i think it adds to look of the car slmost though. Havn't you seent he jdm cars with little steel plates above muffler, and its all black from exhaust. Lets everyone know there driving the car the way it was meant to be driven. FAST. as far as car goes, ive had mine for over a year, and only notice a little problem. The exuats is all stainless stell, so it wont ever rust horrible, but my muffler is starting to get speckles of rust. So what you do is rub it with steel wool, and it will get rid of rust/ then get a chrome polish of some type, and that thing will look shinier then ever. Me and sr20det have to deal with the 10 billion pounds of salt that chicago puts down/ so we need to take care of our exhaust/cars a little more then we should.

I live in texas, so thankfully salt and rust aren't really big problems. I just came back from a trip to connecticut, one of my friends had a civic with stock piping and some ricey muffler, that thing was rusted out pretty badly, we hit a big speedbump while driving, and the piping broke right after the mid-pipe. As for that black stuff, I have it on my N1 from time to time, I always clean the inside of the tip with a paper towel and turtle wax tar remover, cleans it right out. But if that stuff builds up for a while it gets pretty hard to clean up, my friend has a buildup on his greddy PE that he didn't clean for like a year and a half and now its caked on, it won't come off and looks like absolute crap

no exhuast is 'rust-proof' when exposed to the eliments... but some are rust-resistant, like my n1 dual for example...with the rust-resistant particle coating...
