It should run the car, if your idle is high I will tell you a wire you can try to bypass. But it should run just fine.

I've been running a 63 ecu for a while now. It does cause high idle, about 1750 rpm. If the IAV is adjusted to normal idle rpm when warm, the car won't stay running when cold. Details on wire bypass? Thanks!

This info is try at your own risk. I did it on my car and ran an auto ECU for a couple years with no problems, it dropped my idle from about 1600 to 800 solid.

Try cutting the light blue wire that runs to the IACV. You can either cut it in the engine bay ,on the 4 wire connector, or cut it by the ECU. I would suggest cutting it by the ECU, that way if it doesnt work you can re-solder the wire. Pin #113
