As the title suggests how do you know if you have vlsd?

Some symptons of my car, 240sx hatch, 1990 (pig nose) SOHC..

There are times when I've done burn outs and my wheels locked up. I've fishtailed at a stop when I raced an integra..

When I go over certain deep cracks or on turns at certain angles at certain speeds the back of my car rattles like crazy to a point where my head unit starts skipping tracks.

This rattling is extremely annoying.. almost tire hoppage? Friend told me it could be my differential, another told me it's impossible I have open. So how do I know if I have vlsd or open? if it is open does the wheels at any time for any reason for and in any situation lock up? or is it always open.

If I do have vlsd could there be something wrong with it? Please help.. also I'm thinking of getting my lsd welded. Can a vlsd be welded? are the chances of it getting welded propperly much lower?

light em up a few times.

now you will need to be able to count if you see the number 1 repetedly you have an open diff.or if you see the number 11 repetedly it is some sort of lsd (prolly a vlsd but i have no clue if they were offered in the pignose seeing as i dont own a pignose and already have a vlsd)

this migh not be the best way to find the answer but i am almost certain it will be the most fun way to find an answer.

on flat dry roads some people can do two wheel burn outs witha n open diff....

If you wanna do one better goto a road with a dirt sholder and do a light burn out half on the dirt and half on the road. Should be pretty obvious if your just spinning the hell out of one of them.

If you make an 11 there's something wrong with the way you are moving your car around.......should be an l l or a SS if your good enough, haha maybe even a ZZ. Haha, j/k.

I am going to be nice to you.

For starters, there was no 1990 LE. For 1990 there was only XE(coupe) and SE(fastback). If you do have a Zenki S13, then there was no factory installed VLSD. There could have been one installed later, but not from factory as original equipment.

That 'wheel hop' feeling you get is some back shocks that need to be replaced, i get it too, and my back right is almost gone.

About the "orange" sticker saying,"viscous lsd"; somehow, mine came off when I was removing it from the subframe. I doing a blue powdercoat on it. NEways, on lsd diff.(with or without the orange sticker) when you jackup your left & right rears, try to spin either wheel, if you see both wheels spinning in the same direction, you have lsd. Another way of knowing if you have lsd, get a friend to hold one of the tire and you try to spin the other tire, if you have a hard time spinning it, you know, you got lsd! Hope this helps!!!
