Not much to it. You are regulating the amout of air pressure going to the wastegate.

Based on what type of MBC you have, one end will have a tube going to the wastegate on the turbo and the other end going to an intake source (A place on the piping where it will see what the boost really is).

MS Paint is fun!! The pictures explain themselves.(this assumes you have a side-mount IC, but it wouldn't be any different for a front mount)

Incase your still confused after the pictures... Your MBC should have a nipple on the bottom and the side. The one on the bottom goes to either the cold pipe(if you still have your side mount),the hot pipe(like in the picture above) or you can even run a "T" off of one of your vacum lines coming off the throttle body. The side nipple goes into the wastegate. Thats all. If your car was running before and your adding the MBC, put it in the vacum line between the boost reference and the wastegate with the air entering through the bottom and exiting throught the side to the wastegate. Good luck.P.S. Luke- I'm loving the microsoft paint directions, sometimes it pays of to go low tech.

Ah no, I'm not a fan of the Ebay MBC's because they're homemade and have not had the best reliability in general. I invested in an expensive DNA Boost controller, but the drivability it gives was worth it.

Do you have a boost gauge? I would recommend that you NOT use this MBC unless you do. You need to keep an eagle eye on the boost with that thing.

What do you mean you have to cut a spring? All MBC's i've seen have a screw adjustment on the side to adjust the boost. What you said doesn't make sense to me because being able to adjust boost easily is the whole point. Hope that helps...

Ive seen air pressure regulators off of compressors used that work well because they have a click setting as you turn the nob. So the thing wont spin unless put pressure against it.

the HKS manual boost controller is kind of like that also.

The DNA in my pic has a adjustment screw with a locking ring around it.
